Agreed to view a car that was in stock, drove down 1.5 hours to view it only to arrive to be told the car had been sold late the night before. The salesperson claimed that they had left a message on my telephone, but I had no missed calls nor any voicemails. They only had my mobile telephone number to contact me on, so no message could have been left elsewhere. Despite arriving, disappointed that the car was no longer for sale and realising I had a wasted three hour roundtrip, the salesperson then had the nerve to start trawling their stock for other cars to flog me, whilst answering the phone mid-conversation, none of which were petrol as I had clearly specified. The only positive to be taken is that judging by the other reviews that have been left, we may well have dodged a bullet!!

The guys at Race Course Garage are professional and really went out if their ways to make sure my buying experience was as good as possible.. It's nice to finally find a no pressure and honest dealer.

Had to ring daily for a week to get a date to collect car. Arrived on arranges day to be lold car wasn’t ready ! Had to wait 3 hours in freezing cold reception. No offer of any kind of compensation !!!!!

Please please please avoid Racecourse Garage if you are mistakenly thinking of buying a car from them! I have had to go to court to successfully get back a deposit I paid to them for an Audi A3. It has taken me 6 months to recover my money! In June 2019, they advertised a car for sale on Autotrader and I spoke to the salesman Clive who told me that car was 'spot on' and sent me pictures. He promised me that car would be serviced and valeted when I came to view and asked me to pay him £200 deposit over the phone as I live in London. The deposit was paid on the promise by Clive, that if the car was not as described then my £200 deposit would be returned to me. I test drove the car after travelling to Chepstow from London a week later by train. The car turned out to be a mess with dirty dust covered paintwork and interior. During the short test drive I discovered the brakes were spongy and the engine tired. Clive then asked his mechanic to fix the problems whilst I waited in their dirty dusty cat hair covered office. It was no better after the second test drive and i had no choice but to refuse to buy the car and asked for my deposit back. Clive refused to return the deposit and I was forced to catch a train back to London having wasted my time and money. Clive gleefully told me at the time that I had no chance of getting my deposit back, as Richard the owner of the garage is a lawyer and he would challenge any attempt to recover my deposit through legal means. Well, I have successfully recovered my money and travel and court costs and would advise anyone else to firstly avoid these people like the plague, but if they have ripped you off then take them to court.

Terrible experience with Racecourse Garage. Went to view the car after paying the deposit. The car has been described to me in a lengthy message conversation (no details on the advert itself hence enquired directly). The car turned out not to be how it was described in the message conversation. Raised this as an issue with staff. Sales person claimed the issue not relevant as no details were placed in the Autotrader advert. To top it off the sales manager muttered 't***t' as he was walking past! This rouge trader then refused to refund the deposit. That's the experience these people have to offer to customers! Would have given 0 stars if it was possible. Issue resolved by raising a Section 75 claim under Consumer Credit Act as deposit paid via a credit card. Hopefully Visa gets the money off this trader through their channels. Beware and avoid like a plague! Couldn't recommend this place less.

Phoned the Racecourse Garage beforehand to check the car was available James said he would check and ring back within 10 minutes. He did as promised and we agreed a time later that day to view the car as we were due to visit another dealer and compare cars. The other dealer was less than welcoming although the car was good value. We decided due to our earlier phone call to visit racecourse and immediately the team were very welcoming, what a difference. It's the people that very often tip the scales and that is exactly what happened when we visited Racecourse. The background of the car was provided and we were immediately offered a test drive. It made our decision very easy. I would recommend to visit before you buy anywhere else.

After buying a Land Rover Discovery 4 from Racecourse Garage , I had a few problems occur , I’ve never experienced a better after care service from any car dealership I’ve brought cars from in the past . Nothing was to much trouble for them and they kept there word when they said , any problems we will sort them out for you . And they Did , would highly recommend theses guys when your buying a car for the complete peace of mind and excellent professional service

I bought a car from the Racecouse Garage which in all fairness has not been bad, yet! The problem I have with the garage is that their claims to do a 70 point check and perform a service are simply not true by virtue of the faults I discovered with it that should have been exposed by the most basic check by a garage. One particular fault they tried to repair with a bodge in-house repair that went pear-shaped on them and they admitted to it. They go to great extremes to avoid spending money and affecting a professional repair. My partner bought a car at the same time that turned out to be a long drawn out 'put it right at minimal cost' job. Firstly they refused to believe the fault was 'real'. Eventually, they accepted that it was indeed faulty and promised to have it repaired. It turned out to be expensive but it was done in 2 weeks by exchanging a unit. Shortly after that, another problem occurred which was going to be rather more expensive as the fix they applied (through being behind the curve on the technical aspects) caused problems with its advanced systems! Dealer garage quotations were clearly too expensive and the lack of progress chasing lead to the car lingering at the dealers for over one month. Another cheaper garage solution was taken up and eventually, the car was returned to my partner (said to be fixed) almost 3 months after the initial problems were brought to their attention. The garage seems to be unable or unwilling to let us know what work was done. The car has now gone in for a routine service by an authorised dealer, guess what, the same problem has been highlighted as a result of 'bad practises' according to the dealer and the repair costs will be £400! If only this garage lived up to their sales chat and they conducted honest repairs they would get my vote but they have some basic business best practices and ethics to learn and apply and forget the 'bodger business' attitude before I consider buying from them again. I will watch the reviews!

Having purchased our second car within months of each other..The first my parents picked up and found the boot full of water. Excuse oh we pressure washed it nothing to worry about.. anyway no fault of theirs but the car wasn’t suitable as dog cage wouldn’t fit so went back and exchanged it within approx 2 months paid another £700 and took an esatate car. The ignition key wouldn’t turn but told that’s ok I had problems earlier he fiddled with ignition and it turned. Off they went.. got home took key out of ignition the key came away from fob and flew down in front of screen into air vent.. luckily had a second.. rang them they said they would order a new key that was june this year. Have rang them several times that said they would ring back after dealing with customer still waiting for phone call and still waiting for key.. second key flew from fob but managed to retrieve from road side. Ignition still not right probably causing keys to get loose took car back as had really bad knocking noise was told oh we know about that it’s the pulleys rattling they did replace this.. . Though they sold the car with this fault and engine management fault which they rectified only because we threatened them with legal action .. will now exchange the car and have sourced a key from elsewhere I would say leave Racecourse Garage well alone.
