I went to this garage over two months ago and bought a Vauxhall Vectra. It's turned out to be an excellent purchase, the car is great, the service I got when I bought it was very good and the price allowed me to buy a newer car than I expected. All in all, a very happy customer.

The staff were lovely, helpful and knowledgeable, and the range of cars they have in their forecourt is quite impressive. The car we were looking at had a broken indicator shaft but they were quick to repair this so that we could take it for a test drive on our next visit, they even allowed us to make a deposit subject to test drive which was nice as the test drive was what would seal the deal for us.

Purchased a nice little vauxhall corsa 2008 reg after driving the vehicle for a week i discivered a few little minor snags with the car so i changed my mind about the vehicle and decided to get a refund, the owner was very helpful and offered to repair anything wrong with the vehicle for free with the 6 months warranty, i was even offered an extended warranty, the boss offered me a12 month extended warranty absolutely free and also a further additional 14 day refund period from scratch, it was an amazing offer but i had decided to opt for something a bit newer so i asked for my money back, the manager honored the 14 day refund policy without hesitation and as a little bonus the manager even waivered some of the £150 cancellation fee which he did not have to do, i was treated exceptionally well by these guys i would recommend these guys to everyone please do not beleive all the negative reviews just go there and find out for yourself these guys are a good honest family run business and they will treat you with the utmost respect, i would say they are the best car dealership i have ever used in my life, i am beginning to regret getting a refund on that nice little car.

Extremely pleased, found a very reasonably priced car for my son, we were well looked after and have had no problems with the car at all. No complaints whatsoever.

Very helpful and sorted all the little snags out without any hesitation...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Stay clear. Bought a Clio and next day after rain at night, found that the foot well was full of water. I return the car and left it for 2 days while it was (sorted). Took car home, found that they had sealed the sunroof shut, this didn't help as it quickly filled with water again. Took car back, left it for a day for more repairs, which consisted of leaving car running with heaters on and using half a tank of petrol. Asked for my money back and was offered an older cheaper car instead took this Rover home and in 2 weeks the head gasket had gone, scrapped the car, lost £1005.

I wouldn't go to Simms n Taylor's ever again . As soon as we drove away clutch started slipping . Which I reckon they were fully aware of as the car had just come back from an mot...the mot had 9 advisories on in that I didn't realise till we were halfway home . Very dissappointed .....

I bought a vauxhall corsa from Simms and Taylor just recently and what can I say I am chuffed! I haven't had very much experience in buying cars as I am only 20, but I can say that the sale of my car was very well done, they answered any questions I or my dad had asked and cleared up any problems I had with the car (the timing chain needed replacing). I walked away with a nice tidy car which had been cleaned and ready for me the day of pick up! I even got an MOT with it and it had been serviced, I haven't had any problems with it since buying it 2 months ago!. I would recommend, don't just go off the reviews check it out first :)

Would leave a zero if I could. On driving home from Simms and Taylor it very quickly became apparent that my new car that had been sold with a 12 month warranty done by Simms and Taylor was totally faulty - it was like some kind of comedy car, except I wasn't really finding it very funny. I took it straight back the next day and as soon as I mentioned the faults on the car the manager immediately became extremely defensive and very aggressive in his manner. he begrudgingly agreed to fix the car but I had to leave it there for a week. As soon as I got home everything that had been 'fixed' immediately began to break again. I took the car to my own garage who I've used for years and trust completely whose first question was who on earth sold you this car? I've been estimated a repair bill of £850 just to get the car back on the road and have been advised to scrap it. The warranty given with the car is not worth the paper it is written on and covers non of the repairs. All I can say is avoid this place at all costs - rude, aggressive owner with no concern for his customers other than exchanging their hard-earned cash for cars that should have been on a scrap heap.

I contacted Simms to purchase a vehicle on the basis of the pictures on the website and their 6 month warranty, I asked if they would bring it to my place of work with a view to purchasing the vehicle, This is not on their policy to do this as you can imagine the amount of people could give you the runaround. The little MG I bought for £995 was exactly as described and I found the service I received to be excellent. Customers need to be aware that if you are buying cheap cars then you should expect some issues and after sales service will speak for itself, Fortunately I can't comment on that, but at the end of the day I bought a cheap car it was exactly what I wanted and there customer service and help has been excellent. They went out of the way and dropped the vehicle at work for me. If people have any worries then I would recommend the buy an independent breakdown warranty.
