Took my Renault with a noisy front coil spring and strut. 30 minutes later The French Car Center phone called me and stated it would cost £350 just to strip down and inspect the fault for which as you can imagine I refused! When returning to collect my vehicle I was disgusted to learn that I was being charged £45 because they had road tested the vehicle for probably no more than 10 minutes to inspect the noise and then to quote me £350 to inspect the problem further! The gentleman at the desk was rude, hostile with a narcissistic attitude to always be correct and to inform me of what I should be doing! Unfortunately being ripped off is not one of them! I should have been made fully aware of the costs before leaving my vehicle with them! What is also disgusting is that I purchased this vehicle from the French Car Center 2 years ago, so they have no respect for customer loyalty either!
Car is still in with them as they are waiting on a third party to fix a part. The issue we have is that no one tells us what is going on. We were originally told it would be ready at the end of last week. When we didn't hear from hem we called and we were told that it would be ready at the middle of this week. When we called them again they said it would be the end of this week As we haven't heard from them we called again today to be told that the car may be ready end of next week! Apparently they knew that a while ago but didn't think to tell us. We did have a hire car for a while, however couldn't afford it for more than a few days. As we thought we would have the car back today we planned a trip to see my mother in law in the North in hospital. However that now has to be cancelled without being able to tell her when we can see her. Not the garage's fault but keeping customer informed should be a priority as it can have a knock on effect. the question is Will we EVER see our car again??? I seem to have to rate the car i bought but didn't buy one.
Found a car we liked at The French Car Centre for my disabled sister, needed automatic as my sister can only use one hand and one leg, tony said he could get one but when we realised it was semi automatic he insisted there was no difference between automatic and semiautomatic and explained in great detail not including that the car would have roll back unlike a automatic after having all the adaptions for her to drive it, we now find she has to use the hand break for hill starts etc. Which as we had explained to him she cannot take her hand off the wheel we were shocked he didn’t know this. He still claims it’s the same as an automatic and an automatic rolls too his knowledge of automatic and semi automatic is obviously very limited and when approached with the problem he was dismissive and aggressive, rude and not interested, quite happy that he was right despite my sister have paid £11.500 For a car she can’t drive. Not a nice man
First class service from The French Car Centre, very reasonable and very friendly staff , nothing was to much and even offered a lift into town , keep up the good work
... I see the 'Rude Staff' comment before... and I thought it was just my experience! However, I have used this company in the past, and swore I would NEVER use again... as they unsuccessfully 'attempted' to fleece me on a repair bill, then made rude, and indeed a pathetic threatening comment! if you expect a good 'customer experience', and value for money, don't come here... my advice: STAY CLEAR OF THE FRENCH CAR CENTRE... Oh, and by way of automotive sector knowledge; I come from a knowledgeable, in depth motor trade background. Terrible company... just Terrible.

Hello, I read your comments with interest. I am sorry you felt were treated this way. We always try to give a good level of service, but even the best do not get it right all the time. I was not aware of your issues with us but I would be happy to discuss them with you to resolve it, please give me a ring on 01242255355. We have many customers who use us on a regular basis and are happy with the service and our pricing. We are AA and RAC approved, they both visit us to carry out various checks, pricing and customer service is high on list. Regards Paul
Called in today to try and book my car in for a full service on a Saturday to be snapped at by a, woman on the desk just plain rude that they don’t do service on a Saturday even though they’d the only day they have ever serviced my car ?? . Never again , that’s two customers gone elsewhere from now on shame because the mechanics are very good, oh and FRIENDLY . I have used them quite a few times before for servicing and repairs but after my experience today I think I would rather pay main dealer prices and receive a decent level of service and polite staff !!!

I spotted The French Car Centre on my way to work one day and nipped in to take a look around, I had a quick chat with tony about what I was looking for and he found me a Peugeot 207 which was ideal and less than what I was expecting to pay. From that point on it was a very efficient process, he did everything I asked and I picked it up within a week.
Customer service was excellent. Tony Hughes was friendly and professional, he showed us the vehicle that we had previously rung and asked to view. The car was immaculate, we test drove and bought it that day. Tony delivered our car to us on time and we were very impressed at the overall service
I dont have a clue about cars, they were so helpful at the French Centre in answering my questions and helping me out in genral. Like ive said as a car buyer i dont really know whats good etc so when they explained things so well it put me at ease and find out what i really wanted., which was a lovely Mini One, ive not had any problems since the day i first drove it so i do know thats a great sign. Thank you
