The Family Drummond experience may be old fashioned in the way they do business, but what an experience. I sent them an email about a 2014 Ford C-Max I’d been following on AutoTrader. Alistair, the father of the business, rang me to discuss the trade-in I wanted on my 2010 Volvo XC60. It was like I’d known him for years, so easy to deal with, We eventually agreed a trade-in price over the phone leaving me with a few hundred pounds to pay and I arranged to see the car the following day. It was just as described, in prime condition, I paid s small deposit and agreed to collect the car the following Saturday. Alistair said it would be MOTD and fully serviced, with any reported faults fixed before the car was released. He also promised a full 28 day guarantee to fix any reported problems with no cost to me. I texted Alistair the next day to ask if the rear windows could be tinted before I collected the car. He immediately replied with a price, but said there could be a two week delay in releasing the car. He then rang me on Sunday morning to say it was going to be done in the next few days. I then got a call from him on Monday evening at 8pm to say everything had been done and the car was ready for collecting 5 days earlier than expected. I couldn’t get to Chesterfield until the Sat, I met Alistair’s son who dealt with all the paperwork, working from a mobile office in the yard. Everything was professionally done, very quickly and efficiently and everything was done with the car as promised. The MOT revealed 2 new tyres and brakes and a light bulb needed to be fixed, all done as promised. I drove off very pleased with my purchase, the car is a dream to drive. Later that same day I had cause to contact Alistair to report a damaged door mirror, not spotted earlier. Not a major issue but a couple of emails and a phone call this morning (Sun) settled the issue, with a promise from Alistair to get it fixed. You only have to read all the good stuff people say about this family dealership, and I add my compliments to this list. I wouldn’t hesitate in the slightest in contacting them if I needed another car and I live in Pudsey near Leeds, a 110 mile round trip, which takes me around 2.5 hours there and back, I’m not the fastest driver at 76 years old. Well done you guys, you certainly show the big boys how they should operate.

Brilliant, family run company that put the customer first! Its really refreshing to come across individuals who believe in giving good old fashioned service. I have no hesitation in recommending to family and friends and will definitely use again. I wanted to clear the finance on my existing car and change to a car subscription. I had valuations from We Buy Any Car, Arnold Clark and Evens Halshaw but my neighbour suggested I give ASJ Drummond a call, as he has used them before and recommended them. Alister gave me a more than fair price, better than the others and settled the finance instantly, with no 'admin fees' or 'surcharges' for immediate processing and went out of his way to make himself available on a Sunday to view the car, and again the following week to hand the vehicle over and made sure I got home afterwards. I was extremely impressed with Leigh at ASJ Drummond with his very down to earth no pressure nature. He made sure that everything was in order for viewing the car, and also made sure all relevant documents and so forth we’re all there too. The fact I got my dream car from him is just an added bonus, and I would happily deal with him again and recommend this dealer to other people.
