The fact that it was my second purchase from Carbase in West Super Mare in two years says it all, never had the slightest problem with the old one, I just wanted to move up from a V70 to a XC70, and 3 years newer. I wouldn't bother to fly down to Bristol from Newcastle to buy another car from them if the first one hadn't been a good deal.

Carbase in Weston Super Mare put lots of extras on the bill and then when I tried to cancel, did everything they could to prevent me from doing so. First, I'll say I was extremely happy with the car I bought. I had researched it online and I must have been a salesman's dream. No one had to sell anything to me, I saw it and knew I wanted it before I visited. That said, no real attempt was made to sell me the car. I came back the next day, signed up for finance and when I got home, I realised in my naivety that I had also been charged for lots of other services: * Carbase membership * Extended Warranty * Scotchguard Plan * GAP Payment insurance The cost of my car had risen by 2,000 The next day I asked to cancel and they refused saying that these products had been explained to me. Yes, they were explained, but they were never offered as options. They were simply put on the cost of the car. Not only did I not get my money back, when I found an issue with the car 2 weeks after purchase (something they promised would be sorted prior to purchase) and when I enquired about it and it was ignored. Every time I have contacted them, it has taken at least 2 days from them to respond. Watch out for the sharp practice sales, with poor after-sales support.
