Bought a car off this garage mistakenly a few years ago and after a few thousand pounds later it's finally running tidy.... For now. Don't expect service history and don't even bother paying for the years warranty, because I took the car back numerous times only for them to fix nothing. The customer service is okay up until you sign for the car, then they couldn't care less. If I could give no stars I would. Awful garage. Stay away.
Purchased a car in 2016 and was promised the car had full service history and would be forwarded onto me 2 years later this still has not happened and I have had endless problems with the car Would not buy from them.
Brought a diesel car here and had an issue within a couple wks informed them and because I'm 70 miles away they told me to take it to a local garage I wanted to reject car as was in the 30 day period but they said no... so I took it to a garage and was told it was an injector and it needed to go to a specialist to have all of them benched tested I then arranged with car r us to take it over to them for them to send it into a specialist place as I didn't think it was fair that I was doing all the running around anyway they didn't put it into a specialist place just sent it to a kerbside autos who just buried the accelerator peddle into the carpet an used it for personal use and then said there aint nothing wrong with it which is a lie as the problem is still there i paid £3200 for my car so be warned and believe all the bad reviews on here they ain't lies so my best advice to you is purchase a car somewhere else the owner's son Dave doesn't listen to anything we said and put the phone down on us which was very professional it says alot about this company im now in the process of getting my money back through my bank as the car is not fit for purpose. This garage shouldn't be trading as most of these cars are sourced from the free to collector section on gumtree there that bad ....

Bought a blue L200 from Cars R Us Aberdare, engine management light came on whilst driving home, took it back and they reset it. The following day the engine management light came on again, took it back and they kept it for almost a week and had to get a few other things done too including replacing rear shock (failed mot in April for being insecure then passed the same day), front cv boot and mounting the spare wheel. When it came back they had racked up 220 miles and not even refuelled, the cv boot had been replaced but was poor quality, the rear shock had not been replaced, just painted (?) and the spare wheel was mounted but not secure, it was moving about and bald! Totally ILLEGAL... engine management light appeared to have been turned off on the dash as code was still showing on diagnostics machine. Called the salesman and stated we wanted to reject the vehicle and he asked us if we would to take it to a garage of our choice to get the work done but we declined.. It has taken a month to get the rejection approved and the vehicle still hasn't been collected and we cannot drive it... Almost 2 months without a vehicle is ridiculous and has held us up in getting a different vehicle.
This garage sold me a car under false pretence. We had numerous phone calls during the week I went up to see the car but their address was wrong on Google and I ended up in Cardiff the first time I went to check it. I asked if they would stay open so I could see it but they wouldn't. So asked them if they could hold the car as I really wanted it. The guy insisted there was nothing wrong with it and everything was fine so the weekend after I travelled up over 200 miles again on a winter's day and by the time I got there it was 5 o'clock and dark. I had a quick look around the car and everything seemed fine it was nice and shiny smelt fresh inside and everything appeared okay. I was shattered as I had done 60 hours at work that week so I asked again just for reassurance that the car was mechanically sound they said yes. So I stupidly bought the car on finance and am still paying for it. At the time I had a Suzuki swift which had a gearbox problem and asked if I could leave it there until next weekend for collection they said yes. They then went on to say they would sell it and give me some money for it only to have them call me the week after and say they're going to start charging me for keeping it there after I said I had already arrange collection but cancelled because they insisted they could sell. In the end I was basically forced in to selling it to them for 30 quid as I couldn't arrange another collection for a suitable time and price. It gets better... Within the first month the cars drive shaft went. The next month there was an oil leak which led to the engine seizing; my garage then told me the car was basically a rig and would also need a new clutch. It wasn't long after that i then needed new tyres and brakes. After that I found there was a leak in the rear shock absorber and I would also need a new front ball joint and suspension arm. They were reluctant to pay anything for any of it! I managed to get a total of £330 from them for repairs which cost me well in excess of £1000. This car has given me nothing but trouble! I am constantly fighting a losing battle with it and it has stopped me from doing a lot things over the past year and 5 months. I wouldn't be far wrong in saying this cars garage bills are now at the price of what I paid for the car itself! STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY you can clearly tell their target market is naive young people with the types of cars they buy. They were constantly aggressive and rude to me during phone calls, threatening me with court and all sorts of things, at the time I felt defenseless and I hope that no one else has to endure the shit that this company has caused me. For a company that also calls themselves mechanics they are utterly shameful! If I had the money for solicitors I would be taking them to court!
Just sharing my largely negative experience. Now I accept first part of this is my mistake for letting heart rule head. Test drove car and it did have a misfire problem but said all will be sorted and to come up in a week. "probably a bit of damp in the spark plugs" was the excuse used. Came up a week later drove away with car and it worked ok for a few days and all seemed well, misfire began again and realised air leak noise somewhere and im thinking all sorts of expletives. Because of warranty I went to a pre-approved garage. Mentioned air noise problem and said no vacuum leaks, and then coil pack and spark plugs were replaced.. same story again of a few days later same problem. Took it to a garage i know well and found vacuum pipe not connected by throttle body, turbo actuator fault explaining where air leak noise was and finally car had been remapped poorly and causing it to over-fuel. By now warranty company precede to tell me cars r us shouldn't have given me warranty as it had a modified part on engine so they were no longer interested. Tried to get my money back for the car which i was entitled to do as car was not fit for purpose and was in the 30 days after buying and they refused bluntly and kept hanging up after being extremely abusive on calls from both myself and a family member as didn't like confrontation whilst accusing me of tampering with car in mean time. After a long two months, eventually agreed for cars r us to get it fixed but car was whining still after fix completed on car (remap removed and actuator done). Had gearbox refurbished between this assuming the noise was from this as there was slight play in box. (but this was a known issue on car so cant complain there). My partner saw a spit of black gunk come out of exhaust and rev'd car for me to see it do it again which i suspected was oil but wasn't too sure, so took car to them regarding on going whining and it smoking at idle after a few mins along with coolant slowly going down for me to be told adamantly by the boss Graham... "It's not whinding (yes, said like that) butt" then got another car of the same model and parade it in front of me as if it was "normal" to smoke excessively which it clearly wasn't but as they were in the trade for 20 years it meant then knew more than me. I left as i fighting a losing battle trying to prove car still wasn't right and it was all in my head. Wasn't exactly great to see them on the programme "The Sheriffs are coming" and the same attitude was apparent on that not long after this incident so it sums up what they are about and general reviews off this site seem to prove i wasn't the only one who got on the wrong side of these. Month later and the car started to labour on power and noticed water emitting with a sweet smell from exhaust which i suspect is where coolant was going, oil was almost empty and from then on in I knew it was time for it to go so i part ex'd and lost half the money i paid in 8 months of ownership. Would advise anyone to think twice about going to them as it seems they buy cars from auctions and bodge them together to flog for a quick buck. I bought a dud and they were extremely unhelpful in aftercare with pathetic lies and nasty attitude from both Anthony & Graham.

Bought loads of cars from Cars R Us Aberdare, staff helpful and cars spot on. Wouldn't use anyone else.
I bought my car from cars r us Aberdare i was very pleased with the service. They are very helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
I recently went to buy a car there after few visits the lies they told me the unprofessional attitude they eventually managed to successfully rip me off. Unfortunately I didn't know about their shocking reputation before I went to Cars R Us Aberdare. Please I urge you do not become their next victim they have no morals.
I bought a car from this dealership, and after just watching them on TV, I have to warn people that they are going to rip you off, like they did me. They should not be allowed to trade. They buy cars at auction, bodge them up and sell them on. I purchased the car for 7k and spent another 3k in the first 3 months getting it sorted. At the time I reported them to trading standards, but was told that I should have got stuff from them In writing rather than over the phone. Do not use Cars R Us Aberdare, or please take a mechanic with you to check the car over before you part with any money.
