I have never ever left a review ever, but what has happened the last couple of days has insensed me, I cannot say about other branches of car shop, but in my opinion I would never deal with Manchester, or recommend that anybody else should. 😡
Sold me a car with a flat tyre, then didn’t answer ignored emails for weeks, didn’t answer the phone and repeatedly made false promises. Lady put the phone down on me, when i asked why she hadn’t answered my emails for over a month.
Avoid at all cost. The customer service is extremely poor and I dread to think what the after car service would be like if I went through with the purchase. They do not manage your expectations and will talk over you if you are not happy with the service and are making a complaint. I placed the order online, the car did not have to be sold to me. I then had a call next day where Ewan (sales man) said he would sort everything out smoothly (before the agreement was signed he could not do enough). He said I would receive a call from the business manager to finalise everything, this had already been finalised with the finance company. I was told I would receive a phone call by 8:30pm that night. I did not receive a phone call so I looked online and the business shut at 8pm? (First issue) I called in the morning extremely annoyed and the agent said I had to wait till midday to wait for Paul to arrive in work. I was told by the agent that there was not another manger about to finalise it. I escalated this then all of a sudden there was a business manger (Daniel Alder) who went through the details with me ( he was the politest worker I spoke to and could see why I was annoyed). (Second issue) Paul Bristow eventually got in contact later in the day and was blaming the miss communication on the call centre staff, when in fact it was the staff in the Ashton shop, he would not take any responsibility and tried to down play the situation. (Third issue) The finance paid out and then the process to get the car is extremely challenging. No ones ever available to take your call, or they don’t have the required time slots you need, from this moment the staff including Ewan developed an attitude. I asked to pick the car up and they said it was no ready, then they said it was because they did not have enough staff for the handover ? (Fourth issue) I told Ewan to cancel the order which he said he would. I did not have a confirmation email so I called the next day and spoke with business manager Paul Bristow. He became extremely abrupt with me when I asked to cancel the car due to the poor service I received so far. He repeatedly talked over me and would not let me speak. He tried offering me a full tank of petrol to keep the car. I was trying to explain how I lost faith in the company due to the poor customer service and I was dreading the after care service encase there was an issue. He said it would be a difficult process the unwind of finance and it is unusual to do so (which I have on email) He said he would get it processed as quickly as possible via email but would not be able to contact the finance company until Monday as the hold time would be too long if he phoned them. I made him aware I have contacted the broker and finance company several times today and got through straight away. He did not reply, and has not replied to my email about the refund of my £99 deposit. So this is why I am now posting this review. The company is a joke and I wish I read all the negative reviews before I offered a car with this company
Bought my Mercedes in a October 2020, was really happy with the car, until 2 weeks later the engine started making noises, and the wipers were not working properly. Took my car to get this fixed at the Wakefield branch. No one told me after what the noise actually was after, until I rang up and they said it all solved and if it happens again then call back. 2 weeks after this my suede section of the seats started turning white (this is a common Mercedes problem with alcantara seats). The driver seat was fine apart from the other seats. I never have anyone sat in my car so it wasn’t my fault. I tried to wipe the seats with a clean cloth and it went. Couple of weeks later the marks appeared again. I rang up in Jan and they booked me in for it to get fixed. So far the seats are fine but I still can see white marks in some sections but it isn’t as bad as last time. Now in March the rattling sound from the engine has appeared again and I have rang for it to get looked at. They have said if it’s wear and tear I will get charged £90 as it isn’t included in the extended warranty. This is ridiculous as I reported this similar problem back in November (which they have no record of now apparently). Why should I pay for this, when problems keep on happening with this car over and over again. So far I haven’t had a good experience as I keep getting problems with this car and it isn’t good enough. I know I am over the 3 months warranty but if I reported the same issues within the first 3 months and the problem is still there then I should not have to pay for this. Also when you pick up your car after a diagnostic check no paper work is given to say what the problem is. Overall I am not happy

Ignore the price on the car you have to pay 144 as for admin .they said to check if I had finance on my car which I had paid cash and bought it from the car people in manchester.shame as I would of booked bought the car and staff are nice
Complete waste of time I will never buy a car from The Car People Manchester again business manager is a joke never phone you back Keep away
After buying a car from The Car People in Manchester, I would never go back for a second one. The level of service from sales staff is disgusting, They leaving you sat around for 20 minutes at a time while they have a chat or a laugh. They promise you any scratches will be touched up and car would be valleted, collect car and no work is done. 5 weeks later still no return phone call even though they promise that somebody will ring you. Avoid if you can. Be warned.......
