My daughter and her boyfriend recently bought a 2016 66 plate Peugeot 208 reg BV66 RMY from these cowboys. Test drove the car and all seemed fine so deposit left and told it would have its MOT within a couple of days which it did. I don't know who does the MOTs but must be blind or bribed to be deaf and blind. Anyway picked the car up and it seemed OK but after only 8 days it went into limp mode and luckily only a short distance from home so limped it home. Discovered there was no oil in it but there was oil when we checked a few days earlier. Put some more oil in and still wouldn't run properly. The day after it ran but not brilliantly so took it to a trusted garage to get it checked out. The garage said the engine needed replacing as the 3rd cylinder was knackered along with the catalytic converter and in the space of 2 days had used a load more oil. Went back to the garage demanding a refund but was told it needed a managers permission to issue it but no manager about. They said they would ring but false promises as they never did and went 3 times to be told the same tale. It took my daughter to send a text threatening legal action for them to agree the refund. Surprise surprise the day after the car was returned its back up for sale to some other unsuspecting mug. This company should not be allowed to trade as when my daughter returned the car there were a few more angry customers demanding refunds. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Hi, just read your review. My son brought a car there last week and after 2 days it started smoking. They told us to bring it back and they would fix it for us. It's been one week since they have the car and my son can't get a hold of the garage. I called the sale department today wanting to speak to the manager and the sales person refused to give his name and hang up. Do you happen to have the name of the manager and any tips? Thank you for any advice Andrea

Hi we gave you a refund as soon as i was requested . We have aslo recently sold this vehicle to someone else as the vehicle was perfectly fine with no issues when you brought it back to us.
Bought a car October 2023. When driving away, engine overheated and had to stop to buy coolant - completely empty. Oil light also flashing and beeping. Emailed the garage using the contact form on the website but no reply. Took the car to my local garage who identified serious issues including the engine, brakes and clutch with a possible repair bill of £1000 and advised me to return it. They had seen 3 cars from Cleckheaton motor sales that week, all with problems. Went to the garage less than a week later for a refund. Initially they were unhelpful, saying they could not authorise this, but we were determined, and then soon gave me a refund, including the money spent on the warranty, but not without telling me they could have been 'awkward' with me and with no apologies. They also informed me that the V5 had not been sent off, as they keep all paperwork for a month 'in case of problems like this' We thought we had hit on a cheap solution after our old car was written off, but wish we had saved ourselves the worry and heartache and gone to a large, trusted dealership in the first place, which is what we did the very same day as returning the car. I now feel safe and looked after, in a car that has been thoroughly serviced and which comes with a long warranty with the dealers (not some third party company)

You had issues with the vehicle that you purchased, so we give you a full refund, if we had sent the logbook to dvla as soon as you purchased it we wouldnt have been able to refund you as we wouldnt have the paperwork for the car. But most customers know this
Bought a car from here in June 2023. Had nothing but issues since!!! Engine management light came on as I was driving and the car broke down on me within the first month. The injector was broken and when AA came out to look at the car they confirmed the car had been sold to me with 3 of 4 injectors working. The car was not even road worthy and unsafe to drive! They should be ashamed to be selling people cars that are not even safe. All they care about is taking your hard earned money. Tried to call the garage and they keep hanging up on me, absolute scammers. ALL I HAVE GOT TO SAY ABOUT THIS COMPANY IS AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! **Lesson learnt to read reviews on car company's before purchasing**

Report them to trading standard the more eople that do they will be investigated. They were fined in 2019 for 23k for dodgy cars
I’m amazed to see Cleckheaton Motors rated as 2 star. I’ve used them for my last two cars and have highly recommended to friends and family. They’re my No1 choice for 2nd hand motors, always found great quality for my money and great service from their staff. I suspect some bad reviews may come from local competitors? Bought a car from these guys in April and I’ve had nothing but issues since. Problems with the engine, the fuelling system, the exhaust, the battery, the clutch! You name it there’s been an issue with it. Took it for a test drive and it was fine; shortly after leaving the forecourt with it it broke down. Tried to get hold of the garage for DAYS to absolutely no avail. Left countless messages and heard nothing back. Wasn’t until I made the trip back over from Leeds and turned up back at the garage that they agreed to get it into a partner garage to get it sorted and even then it took the absolute mickey. Purchased an 18m warranty through the garage that has turned out to be as useful as a chocolate fire guard, and a quick look on a search engine describes it as “a dodgy warranty company for dodgy garages” Kicking myself for not doing more research before purchase but have bought many cars in the past and trusted the sellers too much as I fell in love with the vehicle, It’s places like this that give car dealerships a bad name. Dodgy as. Save your time and money and look elsewhere! My “affordable” car has turned out to be anything but.
Purchased a car with a brand new 12 months MOT so thought should be OK ... wrong. The day after I Purchased it had it booked into garage as CV joint was clicking on full lock, this was known about at purchase and £95 knocked off price off the car fair enough. The reputable garage then preceeded to find 4 major faults with the car that would have never passed an MOT, they were shocked at what they found, rear shocks completely blown and had been for a long time, front suspension top mounts completely disintegrated, front breaks both in a dangerous condition. This was 3 days after an MOT pass and the car only doing 40 miles I smell a dodgy MOT. Cost me £1000 to rectify all the faults and make the car roadworthy for my child I didn't want the seller to do the work as they are dodgy as F##K and wouldn't have trusted them, The warranty states engine and gearbox only. When I contacted them to see if they'd be willing to help with the costs of repair all I got was we'll give you a refund for the car lol, sure you will and receive a car back that's roadworthy with all new suspension and breaks and probably sell for more. Since the repairs also had a gearbox issue but was cheaper to repair it than the recovery costs to get it back to them and again wouldn't trust them as don't believe they have a qualified mechanic on the books bodge it and scarper. Lessons learnt bought cars for years but always used proper reputable dealers never had any issues with them that's what I'll stick to in future.

did you get money back as my partner is having same issue
Had a good look around the 'showroom' warehouse, which is littered with used rattle spraycans. Every single car in there is a pile of cheap auction bought rusty and damage repaired rubbish. Everything had poorly resprayed panels, was rusted to hell underneath or had bodged accident damage repairs. Someone who didnt know what they were looking at or doesnt know anything about cars would see shiny and presentable cars. DO NOT BE FOOLED! Everything I saw was an absolute shined up turd.
COMPLETE LIARS - Bought a car from them without reading reviews and utterly regret it, they assure you everything is okay with it and a couple of weeks after purchasing loads of issues start to arise that are not covered by their warranty (they won’t tell you that), do not buy a car from these, would not recommend.

THEY SCAMMED ME - I bought a car from them that had a broken part, they said they’ll order it to my house, it’s been 3 weeks and still hasn’t arrived, after thousands of calls to them it turned out they haven’t even ordered it. Then they stop answering my calls on purpose and when i rang off a different number he pretended to not hear me. Would not recommend
