Bought a jeep cherokee of him was told it was perfect and all the recent mot issues were sorted, he lied, Give me a gold warranty with Handler Protect, which I had to use to repair the long list of faults. Turned out the warranty was also a waste of time untrustworthy and no after sales care

Purchased a Mercedes ML from Doug last year. Communication faultless, the car is brilliant and overall trustworthy/reliable.

Obviously 2020 through more spanners in the work with my car dying in December and with 3 children we needed a car asap. Due to tier restrictions we couldn't travel to see the car. Doug was very patient with me on the phone after being very apprehensive put me and ease gave me the name of the company who delivered the vehicle and it was flawless. I paid at 2pm on Monday and at 6:30 am on Tuesday my car was here. The warrantee is with another company and we have had a service light come on but the warrantee company are sorting it all out. 10/10!!!!

Had a few problems with a car I bought from Douglas Bell Cars, #1 questionable Mot, how it got through it's previous Mot, God only knows. It was very gleaming when it arrived, found out later it was because it had a paint job, not disclosed at the time. When I found issues he would not answer the phone, had to use different phone's to get him to answer, was different when I was buying! Tools were missing, spare wheel was missing, and he said "it must have been stolen after delivery " also the glow plugs were knackered. All his answers were " claim on the warranty " there is a long list of things that were wrong, too many to mention here, I've now spent several thousand putting things right, D3's are not fifty quid Fix's. The car had had repairs done by people who obviously had not a clue, and DBC put shiney stuff on it and flipped it. I would not recommend buying any vehicle from them , they can't be trusted, and if you have a problem once you have parted with the cash, they wipe their hands off you completely. Buy at your peril. Avoid at all costs.

Please do not touch with your longest handled slippery bargepole, Doug comes across as well informed,pleasant, nice chap....Haa no,he's not...I p/x my Renault Kangoo van which I drove from Portsmouth to Derby in good faith,I put a New mot on which he asked for... , picked up a subaru legacy, 12 months MOT, it only had 11..he'd hosed it down, that was about it, plus maybe done a bare minimal service,ill get back to that... I drove the car back home.. im normally very fastidious but I didn't look under the bonnet till I got home in the morning....,looked under bonnet, quick look around, fan/drive Ac belt was in bits, shredded,at this point I immediately phoned Doug who was of course mortified lol,.. I can't believe this Martin, its my reputation on the line,I'll be bollicking the garage.... , benefit of the doubt, this chap sounded top notch... Anyway I thought simple enough job, couldn't be doing with immediate garage costs or being off work/road for a day., fixed it myself no prob.. .The very next a puncture, or slow one.. Two slits in the back huge chunk taken out the n/s, to be fair the chap who looked at the tyre said the n/s chunk was OK but when he looked at back game over... This lovely chap promised me the cost of repair to fanbelt, got really sweary and animated the nxt day about the puncture, never received nothing off him yet lol, cheers Doug... Ps needs a new clutch aswell plus flywheel another £1000 plus on top
