Bought a 9 month old Mercedes GLS this month, which started dripping off 'melted rubber' the next day once we'd left it on our rather hot drive(turned out to be the previous owner had applied cosmetic wrap around certain parts of the car and not told them - and they'd unfortunately failed to notice this during their 6 weeks with the car on their forecourt - even signing off a pre-delivery inspection report that no post market components had been applied to the car). Once we'd turned down three months' free rentals and explicitly repeated we wanted to exercise our short term right to reject the car under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, things got pretty nasty from there with the CEO calling me a blackmailer and other names when all we wanted was a working and decent car. It took nearly a fortnight of writing to the Ombudsman, finance company and initially G.C. Motors themselves before they accepted the car back, and then kicking off another drama regarding our refund. Every motorist should read up on the law and pay through HPI and use a credit card for any deposit so at least you've got plenty of laws backing you up in the event of a misadventure like this purchase. Also, the Right to Reject a vehicle is a good law to read up on as it doesn't only apply to the first 30 days, of buying a car and applies to cars up to 6 years old, dependent upon the mileage and condition of the car. Returned to buying new cars only from now on - all we want is a quiet life whereas this firm could have gained a customer for life if it hadn't responded so negatively to our initial report on the car having rubber peeling off from it. Saddened by it all.

Bought a Mercedes C63, a very good example - I spent a long time looking but this was the best without any doubt. I would like to share my positive experience with GC Motors. I previously had a 2012 C63 AMG that I have owned for 2 years and completely love, the decision to upgrade didnt come easy and the hunt for the next car was extremely difficult as I was very particular in what I wanted, my options were very restricted and limited as I am very particularly on what cars I like to have. I set my sights on a BMW M6 or a CLS63AMG. The options online were few and far between however, this wasnt an issue for GC Motors due to their excellent stocklist of High end performance vehicles. I stumbled across their online advert for a CLS63 and made the initial contact online. I reside in Aberdeen, Scotland therefore requiring to travel a fair distance in order to view or purchase the car. From initial contact, within less than 24 hours I received a call from Justin Hughes @gcmotors who walked me through the whole process, providing photographs and videos and answering every query i had with the vehicle. Justin was very knowledgeable and knew the car in question. I was looking to part exchange my C63 in exchange for the CLS63 and GC motors have appraised my car fairly and in line with the market value and expectations, unlike other traders or dealers who give you lowball part exchange offers. This made it easier for me to trust them and believe that they are a very competitive business. Having procured my cars previously from dealerships, I had some initial reservations on purchasing a car from an independent such as GC motors, however after having discussions with Justin, Paul the sales manager and their service team I was reassured that the car has been looked after and had undergone extensive checks. I was also upfront and honest with GC motors on my budget, what car i was looking for and my limits of which they all took into consideration. After a week of regular communication and open discussions with them, we sealed the deal! Justin even personally delivered the car all the way from yorkshire to aberdeen to ensure i receive the car on the agreed date which was a very nice personal touch. Having owned the CLS63 for about a month now, I absolutely love the car and couldnt recommend GC motors enough for their service. I would like to extend my personal thanks to the GC motors team - Justin , Paul, Alison, Nigel and Giles (the owner) for making my purchasing experience a wonderful one and making my dream of owning a CLS63AMG a reality.
