The car was parked in amongst other cars for sale on the day of collection and on inspection not only had it not seen any polish at all ! it hadn't even been washed properly. The staff are unbelievably false and know as much about cars as my nan, when I asked the sales guy to please try and remove the bird poo and flys that were still stuck to the car we had no apology at all, just a guy who came out with a rag and in a half-hearted way tried to get the marks off. Then the sales guy didn't even walk us out to the car to make sure we were happy, simply handed the keys to us. At this point I was so disappointed we just left and I'll wash the car myself when I get home. Needless to say I'll NEVER spend my money with these people again, shocking customer service by the staff from the only way is Essex...... AVOID !!!

I've been let down by this company for over two weeks now. I agreed to purchase a Seat Leon FR (registration CU65YWL). me and my partner know a great deal about this cars and engines and when I asked to see see the service history (the milage on the car was over 65 000 miles) the car didn't have the timing belt or the water pump done at the recommended mileage. Still I agreed too purchase the car if this was rectified. The dealership asked me if they could have extra time to get this work done for me - I agreed and I suppose to collect the car two weeks later. However, a few days before the collection there was still no information available if the work was done on the car and it felt like they were avoiding my calls. Finally, I spoke to a manager who informed me that the timing belt was done 3 years previously and that they would not do the pump! So I waited for over two weeks for this car only to be told that they will not do the work they agreed on. I personally will not give this company any of my time anymore and I would stay away if I were you! But if not, I would like to say you watch out for Ben - he lied the whole time to us - not impressed!

Terrible. This was my 4th car from Hilton Garage over the years and what started as an impressive outfit have declined considerably and now operate like a dodgy back street car dealer from the 80's. So I bought an A7, reg A7XYO, from them. I highlighted some paint repairs and a tyre with a chunk out of the sidewall that needed replacing to the salesman Adam which was agreed as was the full asking price. Waited (an unnecessarily long) 2 weeks to collect the car only to find the the tyre was still on the car and the paint looked like it had been touched in by a child with their fingers. In the wrong colour too. Conveniently the original salesman wasn't available however salesman 2 was happy that, although in his words the touch up "wasn't the best", it was acceptable and I should take the car as is. As the car was a 2015 I should accept the accident damage to the bumper as normal, he said (!) The tyre, he had been told, now wasn't sufficiently damaged to warrant a replacement. (Would you buy a performance car to put your kids into and be happy to drive away with a 2" chunk out of the sidewall, especially with a replacement tyre being previously agreed?) Later the sales manager disagreed with Salesman 2 and reconsidered the paint repair (but should it have needed arguing for - they had 2 weeks and its terrible - where are their quality standards that they trumpet so loudly?) but still refused the tyre replacement. No doubt in the response below, if they bother, they will say the tyre was perfectly ok with a chunk missing (!) but the point is that a replacement was agreed with the salesman Adam but not honoured. Their opinion later on the safety of the tyre is inconsequential - a replacement was agreed at the point of order. Apparently he must have forgotten to write it down on the job card...or I was lying - must have been one of these two? I asked the sales manager to contact him for confirmation of this agreement but he didn't. Maybe customers need to record sales people here to ensure promises are not made and then broken? In summary the reasonable prices have kept me going back to Hilton but they are happy to lose an £19k sale, a 4x repeat customer who now changes cars every year and all my friends and family as potential customers over a tyre. This is the kind of company Hilton now appears to be which is a shame. I am warning all against Hilton's shoddy practices on various review sites and hopefully you will reconsider them too. Be very careful here.

I saw a car I was interested on Hilton website. I had some queries on the actual specs. From the first telephone query to the completed purchase Stewart Baum was extremely helpful and efficient he made the whole process easy and pain free. Very impressive and yes I did buy the car and I am very pleased with it

I bought a Vauxhall Insignia Grand Tourer Sport VX-line SRi for £14k in Jan 22. The car immediately had a problem with the clutch. They attempted to fix it and returned the car. Over the next four months, the car was returned to them THREE more times due to the clutch problem and water ingress on the boot lid. After five months, the clutch problem seemed to have gone away. On month ten, the problem came back again, and the car was undriveable. At this point, the car has been faulty five out of the ten months I had owned it. I sent the car back and they confirmed that the clutch issue was still present and they would accept the car back as rejected. At this point, I had no problem with Hilton Garage as these things happen sometimes. However, they then refused to return almost £3k of the price paid for 'wear and tear'. I had driven 8k miles in the car. They wanted 45p per mile - this is the rate that businesses pay staff for driving their own cars, including insurance, tax, and fuel! Hilton claimed this was just for wear and tear on the car. After much haggling, I still lost £2.2k of my money after months of returning the car and inconvenience. If you buy a car from Hilton, you'd better hope it doesn't have any major faults.

They employ unprofessional miserable people that look like they’re from TOWIE to pretend they know anything about cars and the once they have your money they pester you for a good review even if you have had a bad service with them. It’s like they’re so docile to the fact they’ve given you an awful aftercare service and misinformed car not as described that they ask for a good review anyways. Yeah basically don’t bother using this dealership, and I’m not even being biased, these guys along with Arnold Clark just want money then they’re done with you. Honestly avoid and find some genuine, good hearted dealerships elsewhere.
they sound wonderful on paper ,lovely showroom very helpful staff ,then you pay and drive away ,thats when they seem to be unhelpful ,brought a range rover off them ,was told it would take a week as they have to prepare it ,aa inspection etc ,day came picked my new car up ,only to find after a week its telling me it needs a service ,u would think that would have been done ,any way we paid a garage to service it only to find out the timing chain was due to go ,i was told by landrover that any mechanic would have know this ,aa check my arse ,now after the pissed around fixing that ,no oil cap and a fautly sensor is broke ,hilton garage response you should have taken out the extra warrenty, the car after landrover had inspected said it shouldnt have been on the fore-court £,21000 and thats how you treat customers

Tried to sell me a Mercedes C Class for over £17000 On checking the MOT History, It had done nearer to 60k. I did explain to the sales Manager that they had committed a criminal offence by even offering the vehicle for sale with a false mileage He was of the opinion that if he refunded my £100 deposit, it would all go away. I thought that the whole setup was unprofessional, you can now add questionable honesty to that .Only given 1 star because I cant give any less.

I wish I could give less then 1 star. I reserved a car I wanted to buy, agreed on a time for a pre-purchase inspection and was assured on the phone that my mechanic would find the car available and able to test test it. Not only he was treated unprofessionally and with distrust but he (who is fully licensed and insured and has been doing this job for years) was not able to test drive the car. Our experience with this garage is fishy, unprofessional, rude. Sellers on the phone were also very unhelpful and rude. Avoid.
