I found a listing on Auto Trader by Monkswood Garage for a Volkswagen Passat claiming the vehicle had a new MOT and when I called to inquire about the car, I was entirely led to believe it was ready to be driven away so I made an appointment for four days later, stating that I would be traveling from a foreign country for the vehicle. Upon arriving at the arranged time for the viewing, there was only one man present to talk to who claimed to have no knowledge of the appointment as well as the fact that the car neither had a new MOT, MOT at all or was even road legal due to bald tyres, and severely clouded headlights as well as whatever other problems that a unprofessional look-over wouldn't be able to find. The vehicle also had multiple cosmetic issues such as scratches, scrapes, dents and rust patches that were not at all evident on the photos in the listing not to mention a patch on the driver's rear quarter where body filler had been used and painted over without being sanded properly which was also not at all visible on the pictures. After aproaching the subject of the state of the vehicle and the MOT, it was only then that it was revealed that the MOT would be placed on the vehicle once a buyer was confirmed and said he would try schedule it in for that morning. After being informed by myself and a retired professional of the automotive trade that the car wouldn't pass an MOT due to the aforementioned issues, the man said " Well don't have it then" before storming off leaving me and my associate standing, dumbfounded next to the car before we ultimately had to leave. Due to the intended nature of the visit and abhorrent misinformation, I didn't have the necessary time to find an equivalent for similar cost and so ended up leaving the country empty-handed and having lost 500€ (~£450) in travel expenses. These are clearly the tactics of a company that deserves to fold.

We have no tactics and don't need to fold you made a mistake and your expectations were wrong we sell 3 to 5yr old low milage quality cars as I said this was a 12 yr old high mileage part exchange that was in average condition that needed a new mot which we did at the cost of £300 !!

Utter rubbish!!! The car was 13 yrs old , high mileage in average condition and wud have a new mot on purchase!! At £1295?????
Really nice cars and good prices and I had a 15mths warranty free in the deal ,can't fault monkswood garage really and I love my new golf!!
Monkswood Garage is local to where I work. They were knowledgeable and helpful and Honda I bought of them was clean and as described. I had no issues and that why I recommend this dealership!

I couldn't be happier with Monkswood garage and the car. I was buying the car without seeing at and when it was delivered they were true to their word and it didn't have a single mark on it. I was away when they delivered it but they sorted everything and made sure I didn't have anything to worry about, happy to recommend.
