Ameen in Nawaie Motors sold me a 09 Toyota Prius. The car was reasonable and history checked out. I live in Dublin so a distance buyer. I relied on their honesty and photos. I asked that car be put through MOT to give me peace of mind. Reluctantly they agreed and gave it to the Toyota Garage beside them Hays Toyota to MOT and it passed with no advisories the day before I picked it up. I came to pick car up and was as described, but a little dirty. Two of the front tyre's were 1.6 mm and were unevenly worn. Sales guy said the MOT guy asked if he wanted this noted as advisory on MOT and he said he didn't? They replaced with part worn tyre's. When home I noticed one Headlight very dim and put it down to needing a new bulb. When I brought to Toyota they said headlight bulb holder completely corroded and needed a new headlight. We put through the MOT equivalent and car failed on light emissions. We pointed out the MOT pass 4 weeks earlier and they said no way it could have passed as same test. Could Nawaie Motors have "an arrangement" with Hays Toyota next door?? I wonder? I thought that MOT was a well regulated institution obviously not? Hays Toyota were pretty obnoxious when I called and didn't want to know referring me back to Nawaie. The issue was pointed out to Ameen in Nawaie and after deliberating for two weeks he just said that the warranty would not support the claim. I did point out that this was not a warranty claim but that the car was defective and un roadworthy. The rectification work is less than £200. Nawaie obviously value £200 more than their reputation which is never a good indicator of a good honest well run business. Under the circumstances I could not recommend Nawaie to anyone as realistically they don't care about their reputation or their customers. Ken.

Bought an Astra a few months back, was very good quality but after a couple of weeks the breaks started to hiss (problem with the pads) I live in Essex so was difficult finding time to return, I returned after the warranty had expired but they fixed it free of charge....and even cleaned my car for me! Great service.
