car still in warranty, rd motors wont fix it lost of wages and garage costing me £400+ down to you if wanna lose money using him

I have recently bought a vehicle from RD Motors Ltd based in Horchurch, having had the vehicle for a week or so I have discovered there are some major faults with the car and will cost thousands to fix. I have been told by a reputable garage that these faults would have been there before I bought the car. When I called RD Motors Ltd about this they were not interested at all in helping. In my opinion, this garage should be AVOIDED, they are dishonest, have no morals and are just after your hard earned money. Their customer service is truly shocking and I am surprised they are still allowed to operate their business. The vehicles they offer may be at reasonable price but I have found out the hard way why that is. Will NEVER be going back to RD Motors and would recommend anyone looking for a decent vehicle to stay away.

I purchased a car from RD Motors and 5 months later it's broken down with repairs of up to £5000. I got them through Auto traders which I will review but they are poor service

RD Motors took a deposit from me of £200 over the phone to hold what appeared to be a well presented Nissan X-Trail (2003). They actually billed £207?. I agreed to pay the £200 which they stated was "non-refundable", to which I agreed if the car was as described on the website. I went to physically see the car, things started to go pear shaped. I looked through the service history, and the car had had a series of front suspension components replaced, including several "tracking" items. On the MOT, there were several advisories that when I checked with my local garage, would have meant a bill for disc pads and other components of circa £300. Harold ( not Harry) said that this did not need to be declared on the website, as they were only advisory. When I drove the car just a few hundred meters, the brakes were squealing when I applied them, so I believe them to have been far more worn than an "advisory". I tried several other cars on the lot, as I had just driven 90 miles there, and another 90 miles back home awaited me. The cars all had issues with them that should have been fixed, but I believe that RD Motors don't really check out the cars they sell at all. I highly recommend you steer clear of them and go to a more professional outlet.

I was interested in a car advertised by R D motors in Essex. I called the salesman with a foreign accent about it, and, as I live three hours away, I agreed to provide my credit card info to reserve it until I could see it later that week. I was very clear that I was not committing to buy it in any sense and he gave not the slightest indication that it was non-refundable. When I called Tom a few days later to tell him I had decided elsewhere and to cancel the hold on my card, he tells me 'sorry, mate, it non-refundable.' The other salesman predictably did not own up to his mistake, and no amount of discussion would prevail. Ignore my experience at your peril.

For some reason does not allow you to test drive the car on a public road, despite seeing other colleagues coming in and out of the lot with trade plates on multiple cars. Says you can only test drive it on a little closed track nearby, which is so tiny that you can't really get above 40mph for more than 10 seconds... no way to check any knocks or noises at motorway speeds or long cruising, or over speed bumps etc. I was told if I wanted to drive it on the road I would have to tax and insure it myself... nice. Part ex'd a car and was given a low price due to not having any service history with the car, which I thought was fair. So I went home and thought about it, deciding I wanted to buy the car I had seen. I mentioned some problems with the car, and was told "Well it's a used car, you buy it in the condition that it's in. I won't be taking any money off the price for the things that aren't working". I then produced a full service history, by going to my local garage and printing out all the work they had done, and also from documents from the previous owner that I didn't know I had. I gave him the full service history and said "So surely I could bump up the part ex value of my car now?" And he told me "No not really, it won't be worth any extra with that". SO he was happy to take my full service history, despite telling me it won't be worth any extra with it.... what a humongous con artist. Now that I've driven the car properly after buying it and driving it on public roads, there are a number of problems. Haven't even bothered contacting the dealer because I know they will say "Well you bought the car in the condition it's in". Don't go here.
