Took a deposit on a car then told me that it needed to much money spending on it to sell so the owner was going to keep it Then refunded my deposit I thought they were being honest ,Its now on YouTube a guy announces he’s buying the car within couple of days ,Really dishonest { obviously you tube exposure overrules honesty }

Be careful buying a car from Roy Humphrey Prestige Cars. They sold us a performance car which they MOT'd and fitted new tyres on which had two cracked front alloy wheels. The sales manager agreed to reimburse us for replacement wheels if we could find them to match (which we did) now the company are refusing to cover the cost. Have had to report them to DVSA!!!!

After agreeing a price for a Porsche Cayman 'S' over the phone, described in the Ad as "Totally as New, Stunning" I specifically asked the Sales Manager Tim, "are there any marks or stone chips on the body work or wheels", as we had a 340 mile round trip to buy it. He said, I can assure you it has no marks whatsoever, I would not lie as I wouldn't want to waste my time or yours. I will even pay for your fuel if there is anything. When we arrived at our pre arranged time, Tim had "popped out" so the salesman left us to look around the vehicle. We were surprised to find both front wheels had damage to them. When I pointed this out, he said "well it is 1 year old, so it will have some marks". When I said I had spoken with his absent manager before setting off, who advised it was perfect and would pay for my petrol is it wasn't, his advice was to check how much a refurbishment would cost local to me. I didn't spend the £58k to take the car for work. No petrol refund either! Be careful. After the above was posted on another website where I saw the Cayman advert, I received a call from Tim, apologising for him not being present due to a family health issue. He advised he would refund the fuel cost, so I provided my bank details, and I agreed I would discuss with AutoTrader about removing the review. I then found out during a conversation with AutoTrader that he had spent the next 3 days requesting they remove the review as it did not comply with their policy. They informed him it did, and they re-instated it. I assumed at this point as no money had arrived into my account that he had no intention of paying the fuel cost. This was confirmed when I messaged him and he asked if I had removed the review, knowing full well it was still on there, as he had tried unsuccessfully to remove it himself. After a few more messages from him saying take it off first and I will pay...... I'm a man of my word.... if you had dealt with me not my young salesman it would have been different, I just gave up. I pointed out I had been dealing with him for the past week and he had compounded the issue rather than sorting it out. If Tim was a man of his word, he would have paid the money "he offered" the day after I gave him the bank details, and I would not have to waste more of my time writing and updating this review to warn others. It would appear he would rather spend days acting like a two bit shifty car lot salesman, than keep a promise and his reputation. Just be careful if you are making a long journey to see one of the vehicles at Roy Humphrey Prestige Cars.
