I purchased a vehicle from Stebbings in April 2022. My experience was far from good, in fact it was downright frightening. On the day of the handover I had to get the train from West Wales (Where I am living with a friend) and pick my old vehicle up from my old house (recently split from my wife), a journey of nearly 300 miles. The week before I had been offered 18,000 for my two year old electric van - and I had this in writing. I got to Stebbings (Kings Lynn) shortly after 1pm and took the 'new' vehicle out for a test drive. While I was just about to pay the balance for my new vehicle, the showroom manager came to speak to me. He said that as the van needed cleaning, he could only offer me 17,500 for my van.... after first saying 16,900. He knew the predicament I was in. My van would not have had the charge to get back to my old house and I had planned to drive the new vehicle back to Wales the next day, so I HAD to do a deal there and then. I was in a very difficult situation and they knew that they could offer me considerably less for my van EVEN THOUGH I had it in writing of the higher offer. I felt scared that I would end up in a really bad situation and pressurised to take the lower offer. To use the excuse that the vehicle had to be cleaned was very poor. Firstly, I had already thoroughly cleaned the exterior, the dash and the seats, so it was only the floor that needed cleaning - an easy to clean plastic surface and would have cost maybe 20 pounds maximum to get it done. OK so it was only a 500 difference, but it put me out of pocket considerably and I believe that this was extremely dishonest and morally disgusting so I would not recommend Stebbings to anyone. This sort of dishonest practice should not be allowed to continue. If you are given an offer in writing for part exchange, then they should honour it or not give an offer at all until the car is seen.
“Dissatisfying service at Stebbings” My elderly grandparents traded in their car as they was looking for a smaller one. Their only requirements was for the new car to be economical on fuel, ideally a Diesel engine and an automatic. A sales representative sold them a car that was a manual, which my grandfather struggled to operate effectively, and a VERY uneconomical petrol. As a result of this they soon discovered only a few days after the purchase/exchange that this was a very impractical car for them. We went back to Stebbings only one week later and explained that the car was not suitable for them and they would like to either have their old car back or exchange the car for an automatic diesel model. To much dismay we was told that they could not do this and would purchase the car back £3,500 less than what they paid for it. I asked the sales rep to see their terms and conditions only to be told that the sales rep HAD NEVER SEEN ANY TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE and DOESN’T EVEN KNOW IF THE COMPANY HAS ANY! There are no terms and conditions listed on their website. I then proceeded to ask for the manager to be told that he had left early as he lives over 2 hours away and that there was NO ONE ON SITE OF AUTHORITY! The sales rep took my phone number and email address and explained that the manager would be in contact the next day, I mentioned that it would then be over a week since the purchase which may result in us being over the cooling off period (if there was one). The sales rep said that we have their word on the fact that we came in within a week of purchase asking for a swap or to get their old car back. We had no choice but to leave very dissatisfied and discontented with the service provided. My grandparents the next day found a different car at a different dealers which would give them £3,500 more than what Stebbings offered them for the purchase of the car! I have not felt the need to write a review before but I need to share our experience after such shocking service from such a large company! If you are considering purchasing a car from Stebbings make sure you ask for their terms and conditions before purchasing!
I would like to commend Matthew Rogers on his entire dealings with our recent purchase , he is a credit to the company , and we can’t leave Tom out of the compliments who was also very helpful when we collected the car . I purchased my first car from Stebbings in 1994 and will continue dealing with them

Would not even give this company a one… Would not even give this company a one star review certainly will not ever be buying a car from Stebbings at kings lynn again firstly they valued my old car at 6500 so after finance etc was all agreed on my day of collecting my new car i was so excited but got there they then went back on there word and told me they could only give me 3500 pounds so I was basically short of 3000 pounds which is an absolute joke as I didn't have any extra money so was devastated as I had fallen in love with the car so luckily my parents came to the rescue loaning me the money then I realised that they had not done the dimonand brite on my car that was meant to be done so had to waste over 4 hours of my life dropping my car off my car to them then collecting it again. Only to find once it had been done my car mats had been taken out of the car and was no where to be seen so spent 20 minutes searching for them and it was a battle to get my 100 pounds deposit back for my old car v5. Poor service not helpful in the slightest. Took all the excitement of having a new car away.
I purchased a car 2 weeks ago. I asked specifically if it had 2 keys and guess what it doesnt. It also came with no parcel shelf. No replies to emails now and no contact from the sales manager. I have contacted a dispute and litigation team to resolve this for me as they are causing me undue stress for nothing. If I got what I expected to have then they wouldnt need to come back to me. Avoid at all cost because it will end up costing you....

Stebbings Car Superstore were efficent and Friendly. We have had a faultless experience Our Salesman Jake was very professional and a credit to the company. We would recommend to other people the wonderful service.
If you looking for after-sale support look no further - I was extremely impressed with the sales process no pushey attitude from start to Finish, a lengthy test drive unaccompanied was hugely helpful to get the right feel for a car - from agreeing a price to collection everything went as planned. Unfortunately just over six months down the line started having some knocking noise coming from the engine and after speaking to my local BMW specialist was told that the rods were knocking and had damaged the crankshaft and would require a new engine costing upwards of £9000. With full BMW history I was shocked to say the least - having taken out one years warranty provided by auto protect when purchasing the car from Stebbings I thought this would be covered but when their evaluator came out he put it down as wear and tear which at 69,000 miles on a fully serviced BMW is unacceptable. I tried my insurers for help and they said mechanical is not covered and contacted BMW who couldn’t help - this became an extremely stressful situation with no car for business for over 6 weeks- thankfully as a last hope I sent over one email to Stebbings and Rich in servicing really was amazing. He said they are a Family run business and wouldn’t want to see any of their customers in this terrible situation he arranged the next day for my vehicle to have a fully reconditioned engine at their local engine restoring experts at a very fair contribution from me of £2.5k saving me around £6k with a courtesy car during the whole repair - I couldn’t have asked for more any questions I had were answered clearly and quickly, I was always kept up to speed on the repair and when the car was ready I was delighted. The car runs like new now and back to better than when I purchased it 6 months earlier. I would hazard a guess that there’s only a few car dealers in the country that would bend over backwards to help customers in this way. I would recommend Stebbings to everyone who’s looking for a trustworthy and honourable family run car dealers - there can’t be many left like this anymore. Will definitely be returning the next time I want to change my car. I couldn’t say Thank you enough to Rich and all the team at Stebbings Car Superstore.
Just purchased a BMW X3 from Stebbings Car Superstore, another of many cars bought from Anthony & his team first one being 1989... my customer service from start to finish was outstanding (nothing is too much trouble).. going on my past experience aftercare is still no problem even work outside warrenty has been dealt with without question.. would not hesitate to reccomend stebbings to anybody for their next car 100% happy.
