Bought what I thought was a perfectly great second hand Kia EV6 Gt Line. The car was perfect, well I thought it was. Car had a hole in the rear door which was very poorly repaired and only really noticed when I had it for a couple of weeks and washed the car. So obviously I contacted them and the service was shocking. I wanted it repaired and they demanded I took the car almost 300 miles for them to repair at my cost? Thats one way, then leave it for a week and come back to collect, again at my cost? Then I under consumer law 2015 rejected the vehicle and they kept stating I had to return the car at my cost? And even tried to state it was not there beofre I bought it, they sent me the advert so shot them selves in the foot as you can see the issue in one of the photos. Finally after I proved them wrong about consumer law they agreed to pay for a fix near me or finally stated they would come and get the car, they can sell nice cars but its the after sales that let them down and the misleading information they stated. They cannot bully people about consumer law and they must adhere to this. Massively let down so buyers beware. Double check everything and just know your rights please. Lost alot of credit because of the lies about consumer law and thinking I was claiming under warranty which I was not.

Whitley Bay Motors Ltd from Whitley Bay Motors in response to Very poor after sales

Hi Mark, We were very disappointed to read your review and feel it’s important to clarify the facts surrounding your purchase. You placed a deposit on our Kia EV6 on August 6th, choosing our vehicle from over 300 miles away as it represented the best value in the country. We held the car for you until September 17th, when you travelled to collect it. Before completing the purchase, you were given the keys and invited to thoroughly inspect the car. You were satisfied with its condition at that time and took it away. Three weeks later, on October 11th, you contacted us regarding what you described as a “hole in the rear door,” along with a photograph of the damage which turned out to be a very minor stone chip that had been previously touched in. This was so small that neither our preparation team nor yourself noticed it during inspection or in the following weeks of ownership. Despite this, we immediately offered to repair the minor chip if you returned the vehicle to us. You declined this and instead requested to reject the car entirely. In an effort to resolve the matter fairly and quickly, we offered you two options: we could either collect the vehicle and provide a full refund, or compensate you so the minor repair could be carried out locally. You accepted the compensation offer, and payment was made to your account within hours. We take great pride in being honest, transparent, and fair with all of our customers. We therefore feel your review is misleading and does not accurately reflect the facts or the lengths we went to in order to resolve your concern. Kind regards, Whitley Bay Motors Ltd

Mark MacGregor in response to Very poor after sales

On back of the repossession from the dealership, they did accommodate me well in the beginning and throughout the sale. That was not in question. It was the AFTERSALES. That let them down massively. And now the responce is also a weak attempt to justify themselves, they have actually lied about it alot. They never helped in the beginning with the issue, the issue they state was a stone chip. It was a badly covered hole measure approx 3-4 inches and it was very badly repaired. They wanted me to take the car back and tried to bully me stating it was being offered for repair under warranty, sorry consumer law states its the garage to carry out repairs with in the first 6 months if there are proves to be there at time of buying, they never offered to pick the car up until the final email, and I have approx 60 odd emails with the entire transaction so some of them was before I bought the car, but they now show their company as liars, they are to be looked upon with a pinch of salt. Yes they sell nice cars, decent prices but if you got forbid have a issue they will try their best to make themselves out to be not liable and that is a warning. And I have all the emails to show their lies so please beware and just take note of everything as they don't care about customers satisfaction after you have bought the car.

Bought my car from here last year. Previously done it a while before. Had a 2 year warranty on this too. However, my wet belt started to fall apart and clog my engine. Right, these things can happen I'll go and see them. Peter spoke to me and said ring tomorrow. So I ring and Peter told me to go to a garage in Whitley bay without driving the car there. So basically, since it past the 6 month warranty Whitley Bay motors wanted nothing to do with it. I live in Washington so I asked how am I going to get it there? I got ' Use AA or RAC' which i wasn't impressed by. All they want is a quick sell and don't care if you have any problems after.

Chris in response to Very Unhappy

Just to update you. Finance has been sorted and very happy now. Adam at Whitley Bay motors has been fantastic and very professional from us first meeting him. Yes I have had issues with the car but in fairness even though it's frustrating these things happen. Seen Adam today and he is getting the key fob sorted. Under the current circumstances I cannot thank Adam enough for all his help. If you ever go into this dealership ask for Adam

They are willing to sell cars that have been bodged up so you get a working car to start with until you drive away. The salesman doesn't have one clue about anything you ask and tried to prove a point by saying the car drives fine yes it does apart from no power or working turbo... I had it checked by two garages including the main dealer garage who advised no work had been done and it wasnt road worthy. When my neighbour returned hia car the salesman came out with two others acting as body guards but all 3 didnt even have a clue or seem to understand there was an issue with the car Definitely read the negative reviews as I wish I did before stepping anywhere near the place. They are still up to there same old tricks selling faulty cars and wiping mot advisory's claiming the work has been done when in fact it hasn't. Also they will give you the V5 forms of previous owners showing address details they can't even grasp data protection. Didn't even want to leave one star they are not even worth that.

I phoned an hour before closing for information about a car. The man taking the call said he'd need to look at the file and he'd call me back. I waited until late morning the next day and still hadn't had a callback so I contacted them again. I was told that in his opinion the car I was interested in shouldn't have been put on the market due to a nasty smell inside it (I won't use his exact words). He said I could still look at it but the chances were that the horrible smell would still come back and he didn't want to sell it in case I brought it back after a few weeks. It did cross my mind that the car may have been earmarked for someone he knew as the story was so odd and far fetched, A good salesman would have told me that he could suggest another car (there was a Nissan that might fit the bill) but my query about the original car was knocked on the head so I ended the call as I felt he was steering me away from the car I wanted. I did some research on the internet about the Nissan but the MOT showed the same advisory had appeared two years running and the repair would have been approx £400+ so I discounted that car as I'd guess it would more than likely fail the next MOT and I'd have a hefty bill, Not a pleasant experience at all. I'd shop around and do your homework but I've never known a salesman who was reluctant to sell me a car

Bought a 10 year old Micra for my mother and found them to be helpful and easy to deal with. We turned up to collect the car and they'd fitted 2 brand new tyres that we hadn't asked for. I'd noticed the 2 front ones were low but I hadn't said anything and they were within limits so they could have easily let us drive off, so take from that what you will. (They should change their name though, I appreciate they used to be in Whitley Bay but they aren't now so it makes no sense to keep the name)

Bought a 66 plate car, so 5 years old at the time of purchase 11months ago. Basically with no warning the car went into limp mode. Fortunately i was right near a garage which was lucky as the smoke coming from the exhaust was horrendous and extremely concerning particularly with the car going into limp mode and registering a red engine management light on the dash. The lads in the garage looked at me with absolute shock and asked me when I last had the car serviced. I explained it was done when I bought the car 11 months ago. The mechanic could not believe the car had been serviced, infact said it had been some time since it had been in his opinion. He was also surprised at the mileage and questioned this himself. He showed me the oil filter and the oil was like jelly and absolutely filthy. I was advised that the engine was completely broken and the wider parts affected due to the oil having travelled through causing major damage. This was confirmed by a second garage where I got a second opinion. I had a bad feeling about Steve who sold us the car but never doubted the integrity of the garage, it was a large business with lots of cars and 2 sites. The car itself was immaculate and it fitted our lifestyle perfectly. We were happy with the car at first. The car is a hyundai i40 estate, immaculate costing over 8 thousand pounds. We have absolutely nothing to show for our hard earned money. We've had to buy a car for 500 pounds to get us by as the garage have been completely dismissive and non responsive to telephone or email communication with a Peter that works there. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS AND DO NOT BUY FROM THIS GARAGE. Absolutely changed our lives and are heart broken. If you must buy from these crooks then do so with extreme caution!!!!!
