NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY! On the 4th September 2021 i went to Horsepower to purchase a Mini Clubman. I had spoken with Danny on the phone and he was able to send over a video of the car, in the video o noticed a rather loud 'ticking' noise but was advised that was 'normal' for a mini. I went to the store for a viewing of the car and Danny took me out on a test drive and showed me around the vehicle. After a quick little test drive i noticed the car was leaking coolant which i pointed out to Danny, and was leaking from the radiator. I SHOULD'VE WALKED AWAY AT THIS POINT! Danny agreed to repair the vehicle before purchase (as you would expect) and as an extra piece of mind advised that i should purchase the extended warranty, which i did. It took a week before the car was ready for collection. On the day of collection i picked up the car, and drove it round the corner and parked up to reposition my seat. whilst parked up literally round the corner from Horsepower the car started to emit a lot of white/grey smoke from the exhaust. I promptly phoned Danny and he asked us to return so the mechanics could check it out, which we did. After an hour and a half wait, i was told the car was fine and that the smoke was 'normal' after the amount of work they had carried out on the car and would subside in time. I took their word for it and left with the car, however after a 40 mile journey the car was still emitting huge clouds of white smoke, so i took a video of it as soon as i had arrived back home as proof just in case anything was to fail in the future. A couple of months later the car developed a small oil leak so i took it to my local garage where they explained that the ticking noise of the car was a failing timing chain and that the smoke was caused by failing valve stem oil seals. They advised that the timing chain alone would cost over £1200 to fix and that my warranty would only cover me for £1000 something that Danny had failed to mention and when i contacted him regarding the issues with the car admitted he himself did not know this! Danny passed on my case to his manager Peter, well Now this is when Horsepower began to really show its true colours, despite Danny's inability to resolve or even attempt to resolve my case, he was at least enough of a decent person to talk to me like a fellow human I wish the same could be said about Peter, what an absolute disgrace to the company he is, shouting at me down the phone interrupting my every word and making up rubbish excuses as to why he wouldn't even look into my case despite all of my evidence, his main excuse being the mileage i had done in the car was just under 8,000 (now correct me if im wrong here as i am no expert but aren't cars meant to be driven!?!). To cut a long story short after months of battling and despite all my evidence Horsepower are refusing to fix the car stating that the damage in the videos is 'within normal levels' showing that they are happy to sell broken cars providing its within their normal levels- worrying statement from a company. They don't even have the decency to refund the miss-sold warranty. So if you are looking at purchasing a car from this company save yourself the trouble and buy a car from a scrappy, it will be in the same condition but at least they have the common courtesy to not lie to your face about the condition of the car!

Very friendly staff but was not much compensation from the start when there was trouble with the range rover sport which I paid over the top for (my fault) the warranty was not worth paper it was written on when the gear box kept jumping out of drive, I paid for a gear box oil change and filter (£430) @ new battery £200, and that's without all the trouble I had with the getting the car to and from, the garages when getting in touch with HORSE POWER there was no sympathy, if I had been in HORSE POWER, shoes I would have felt sorry and compelled to mend the bad service never would I ever go back there, 0

Quite literally one of the worst business and car dealerships I have dealt with. I found the dealer to be unprofessional, discourteous and quite simply ineffective. Although this may be a reflection of just one member of the Sales team, as I had no real contact with the rest of the organisation. In summary in August 2020 I spotted I car I was interested in and called the dealership. I was informed that the car was not at the dealership and was due to come in. The salesman requested £300 deposit to block the car. After two weeks the car was in the showroom. On the day of the viewing the car seemed to have just come in as it was not yet prepared and the wheels had been sent away for refurbishment. The Salesman assured me that all would be fixed and that the car would be ready in about three weeks or thereabouts. In the meantime, I informed the Sales man that I would be abroad as my mum has cancer and that the timelines could slip somewhat. All this was agreed. There are some key issues with this dealership that frankly I am astounded still make them eligible to be an RAC approved dealer or even receive any prize at all from CarGurus: 1) I was never informed when the car was ready or the work being completed. 2) The Sale man never contacted me to state there where issues with the delay and that they wanted immediate settlement 3) When paying a substantial deposit of £4200 towards the car I was informed that it had been received, but no sense of urgency or disagreement was ever conveyed to me to complete 4) The car was advertised on autotrader.co.uk at a higher price at the end of August 2020, despite the Company holding close to £5000 of my money an agreement to sell the car to me 5) The Salesman sent me an email on 5th October 2020 stating the car was no longer for sale without even having the courtesy to call me and state that Horsepower had re-advertised the car and presumably sold it to a higher buyer in the meantime. 6) I requested the Salesman to call me a number of times, this was ignored even when I called the dealership and was told the salesman was out to lunch 7) The Salesman seemed more concerned with how many cars he could sell and buffering his ego rather than the detail of warranty policies he insisted on selling me or the most basic courtesy of responding to missed calls or even keeping me informed of progress to repair any damage on the vehicle 8) The Salesman refused (despite being asked four times) to state what the internal complaints process in the Company was. Quite frankly this dealership needs to seriously look at its internal, ethical and operating practices. Needless to say I won’t be advertising this business in a positive light based on my personal experience. A very disappointed and baffled customer….

I was negotiating with Peter to buy a car. He said he would call me back with a part ex price. I called back the next day but it was his day off so they said we will drop him an email to ring you. The following day no call so today I rang him only to be told the car had been sold this morning. Obviously don't care about a potential buyer and to think I was going to drive a long way this weekend to view. Make of that what you.

Summed up on one word, Disappointing. Simply put, I bought a car from Horsepower for just over £15k. Prior to placing the deposit Peter assured me some cosmetic items (Alloy refurbs, Paintwork Polish, Car Valet to remove pet odour) would be looked at. I even followed this up on an email prior to collection and was assured it had been done. Peter said it would take 2 weeks to prepare the car, not sure what was actually done in this time, or if its a sales tactic to build trust? Most of the pre-agreed items were not done, it is obvious that the minimum possible was done and now I am engaging in an email resolution process with Peter Carroll, where because I said "Alloys" and he stated "Alloy", that is why only 1 alloy was looked at, amongst other items. The pet odour was masked with a Aerosol spray prior to collection and the car smells deeply of pet smell, again, I was told the car was valeted, but it was just hoovered as under the mats, it was full of pet hair and dirt! The dealership does seem professional and large on the outside, but I've now learnt my lesson to not trust and check everything VERY carefully. I would certainly not buy from here ever again, which is a loss to them as I change my car every 12-15 months!
