Bought a car a few months ago, and was given a wrong 2nd key, after pointing it out the chap disappeared to replace the battery. He came back with the same key (batteries don't even change with this model), and lied that it'd been changed. Only discovered this when I got home. When I called them about the key, I was told that there's nothing they can do... They also forgot to send the docs to DVLA...

Went down there today to look at a range rover. had cash in my pocket willing to buy the right car. went up to car and to be honest was looking good. Better than the other four that i had just been to look at. looking around car found to be nice just what i was looking for. but was met by a miserable front of house twat. On starting the car up found slight noise under bonnet, it turned out to be a alternator belt split/worn and not far off failing... tried to explain the problem just in case, but not to say something was wrong but trying to explain it will need looking at even if i didn't want to buy it.. which for me was not a deal breaker and i would have still poss gone through with deal.. But the so call sales person then gets all high rate telling me its normal range rover wear and tear and that how it is... I then as a motor tech myself know an alternator belt about to fail loosing water pump cooling, alternator, and power steering is a deal whilst on the motorway can be a deal he then told me that their three trained so call mechanics inspect and check ALL vehicles before they are put up for sale. so with the bad attitude and crap i was given..and that the cars aren't checked before sale i walked away from poss buying a car from them. there lose..

After speaking to a chap called Harry about my part exchange vehicle, we decided to take a trip down to Amersham. We were undecided as to which vehicle to purchase and we're stuck between a Range Rover sport and a vogue. After Harry took some time showing us around the various vehicles in our budget we found the one for us. Such an easy transaction and even helped with insurance and tax. Car was also valeters before we took it which was also fab! Will be returning again for an upgrade. Easy and hassle free!

Absolutely poor service from this company. brought a car, put deposit down then went to pick up the car after receiving a phone call stating the car is ready for collection to get there, pay full balance to be then told the car is not even ready!!! if that was not bad enough they gave me a replacement car until the car that was originally brought, however the car was illegal to drive as had no TAX, was also on the completely wrong number plates which makes everything else totally illegal to drive. Oh and of course they advertising that to sell!!!! Refusing t give us our money back. The company was reported to trading standards as well. STAY WAY CLEAR AWAY FROM THEM, and if you already got involved before discovering all those bad reviews make sure you record all of the conversations. we did it and that might be the only way we will get our money back.

I thought I would take the opportunity to share my experience with Motor Store Ltd. I purchase a Range Rover Sport for just under £12,000 having had a short test drive. I was frustrated to find that there were some issues when driving the car home: 1) The fuel cap would not open when I went to fill it up. Small point but still something which needed fixing. I prised it open with a key in the end. 2) There was a loud rhythmic thumping noise every time I reached 70mph, very disconcerting. 3) The revs were hesitating particularly when changing into 3rd gear. The car would shudder and the revs were fluctuating a lot. For the reasons above I called the garage on my way home to express my concerns. They reassured me they would sort any issues which made me feel a bit better. I drove the car back to them (over 130 mile trip) and gave the vehicle to Andy. He was extremely helpful in driving the car with me to fully understand all the issues. He agreed the faults were present and dropped me and my girlfriend off at Amersham tube station so he could take the car back and rectify the issues. I called almost every day to get updates, and in the end it took 1 month from drop off to pickup (to the day) to be resolved. The gearbox had to be reconditioned and the track rod end adjusted. It took too long, and I'm sure Motor Store would agree. I was without a car for this whole period as they did not have a courtesy car available. This made my 20 mile round trip to work a nightmare for 4 weeks. However, I'd like to point out that some of the reviews on here are quite unfair. The guys at Motor Store were helpful, and yes it did take time to resolve but I imagine some other garages would have been more difficult, and my situation would have turned legal quite quickly which no one really wants. Motor Store gave me a full tank of diesel as a goodwill gesture when I picked up the fixed vehicle, which I very much appreciated. My advice to Motor Store Amersham would be to spend a little extra time assessing the vehicles before they are advertised. Their stock is of high quality, but like buying any second hand car there is always the potential for niggles. Had they spotted my gearbox fault and sorted it before putting the car out for sale, it would have saved much inconvenience on both sides. Their business model is high turnover, which is fine; they are a business and need to make money to exist. And the stock is good quality, for example whoever bought the car I traded in got a fantastic BMW which I had spent a lot maintaining. They just need to go the extra mile on a few things before listing them. Ultimately they could become twice the size they are if they got better at the prep, that's my view anyway as reputation is the most powerful factor for growing a car sales business. Top marks to Andy and Harry! We got there in the end so thanks again :)

Hi I'm writing to you to let you know about my experience with motor store ltd. On Monday the 3rd this month I bought a VW TOUAREG from them I picked it up with my 3 year old daughter the drive back took about an hour on arriving home I parked up and noticed smoke coming from under the bonnet so I opened it up to have a look and there was lots of smoke so I let it cool down and went back to look at the coolant level and it was bone dry the next morning the car would not start as the battery was dead so I got on the phone to Andy to let him know about the coolant and battery he didn't have an answer for the coolant but did say he would get the battery changer. My wife had to call green flag out so she could get the car started to go to work went he came he did a visual check around the car and noticed one of the tyers was illegal and unsafe and wasn't road worthy he the ran a diagnosis on the car which brought up some of which were also unsafe. The car is now back with them after the mechanic came and picked it up speaking to him put a hole new prospective on the dealer the Valais check the cars over when they come in not a mechanic. So my point is would you trust them now you have read this and the fact they let me and my daughter go home in an unsafe car

Bought a S class merc. Thought I'd got a great deal, little did I know it would break down after a couple of weeks, that was two months ago. Very unhelpful towards me trying to say sold as spares ( as if I would pay almost £10,000 for spares ) Never again will i buy from motor store in amersham.

Pushy salesmen, lots of un-truths told, vehicle developed fault within hours of driving it away, after sales care non existent. Rude, aggressive salesman refused to admit to all verbal communications and promises when complained and they are still refusing to acknowledge fault with vehicle. Discrepancies in paperwork, dodgy service history which was incomplete when it finally arrived! Total liars and passed the buck from one member of staff to the other. Refusal to acknowledge the consumers rights. Do not trust Motor Store Amersham under any circumstances.

Came down from scotland to purchase a car vw phaeton was told before I came down it was mot car alloys had to be refurbished dpf went went into limp mode on the way home side mirror burned on mirror exhaust was making blowing noise I should have turned back and ask for my money back was to car up the road phoned them when I got home they said to book it into a garage and they would pay the bill worst mistake I have ever made I payed over €800 to get it fixed they offered me a fraction of the price even the garage emailed them the cost of the fix they only decided they would give me £200 that all they offered they sent a check for £200 and the check bounced this is the low life your dealing with if there any problems believe me they will wash your hands of it beware people I wouldn't even buy a dust cap from them unscrupulous car dealers the review s the good review's that have been written about them must be coming from the owners seemingly they are the running joke down in amasherm the locals people don't buy from.
