AVOID AT ALL COSTS…!!! LIARS AND AGGRESSIVE ATTITUDE !!! MIS SOLD A CAR ( ADVERTISING AS FULL HISTORY, ACTUALLY HAD VERY LITTLE HISTORY We went and purchased an Audi A3, It was a 2018 with 98,000 miles, Took it for a test drive and it was fine, Asked about the service history and was told it was all online due to being an Audi… Was told when we get the logbook back in our name will be able to access the Service history.. So we bought the car in Goodfaith, even asked again on the day of collection as there was no paperwork.. Got the logbook back in our name and contacted Aldi for the history , and it turns out that the car has not Been serviced since 2020 So four years ago, And 60,000 miles has now passed with no service… Tried to resolve it with them As we weren’t happy And all they wanted to do is service it themselves, I initially agreed , but then declined as it was being done in their garage that they own , to be fair lying to us once about the service history the trust was broken so me and my partner declined their offer of them servicing it, I asked if we could put it in our own mechanics and cover the costs and they told us no.. wonder why… After a few conversations, They started getting aggressive down the phone, And even just put the phone down.. Which leads me to believe they are literally just conning people.. I now have put it in writing into an email to them , and await their reply and I feel I’ll have no choice, but to get the motor omnibusman involved… The car was definitely misled to us and I have photos to prove it, Which will be attached below Like I say, avoid this garage at all costs if you don’t want to be fleeced out of You’re hard money.

Hi Roy Would be helpful if you told the truth. You came and viewed the car and we had numerous phone calls with you regarding the car before purchase. We did indeed tell you that whatever service history the car had was online with Audi and you can get that when you have the car in your name. We did not tell you it had full Audi history and our advert did not say that either. You then called us to say it had missed a service and we then agreed with you after 30 mins on the phone asking what you wanted you would bring it back to our independent garage (as explained to you) for a full service even though we had changed oil and filter before it went. You then called this morning threatening me with the motor ombudsman and going back on the agreement. I again asked what you wanted and you said i dont know, but lets be honest all you want is money. We have had 3 or 4 conversations with you now to resolve this and everytime you renege on the agreement and then call up trying to get more. For all genuine customers reading this we are happy to service his car as agreed and resolve it like adults. Fact is you came here viewed the car and the paperwork test drove the car and then brought the car and now there is a problem. And just to finish you have told me on every conversation the car is immaculate and has been cherished, drives superbly and so it has more than likely been serviced. I need to learn to tell the truth , You’re joking, right? Yeah, there was a few phone calls… We came for a test drive and I’m only made it 5 miles down the road and back because it had no fuel in the car.. You advertise the car as a full Service history car… The photos on the Google review don’t lie, It’s from your website… in black-and-white … and from Aldi.. I did ask multiple times about the service and was told that due to GDPR you can’t access it, I can access it once I’ve got the logbook.. I did indeed get the logbook and there is minimal service… You told me it was serviced at 66,000 miles… Where is this evidence? That’s right, there is none.. how do you know that it’s been done at 66,000 miles? ??? If it’s been serviced at 66,000 miles, why can no one access it? Yes, the car is clean, But you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig, It ain’t about the money.. It’s about a dealership being dishonest… Why won’t you let my independent garage service it? , You’re the ones at fault here… I put in my review. I did initially want to service but like my partner said you probably won’t do it probably say yeah I’ve done it and it’s just sitting in the corner for a day, so I called up today to tell you that that’s not gonna work for us , And you just got all argumentative down the phone and put the phone down… We paid 12,300 for this vehicle you knocked 200 quid off, That was before the service issues… For all the honest customers out there.. Just Avoid this garage because it is not worth the agg that comes after..

Oh, and just to add, yes I did try and call you this morning and speak to you to resolve the issue but you chose not to engage , You chose to get all aggressive and put the phone down…also I’m in my right to go to the motor omnibus when you mis sold a car… that’s the correct and legal steps to take going forward to get a resolution…

Show me where it says Full Audi main dealer history as you stipulate. It doesnt. We are going round in circles. Also if you contacted Aldi no wonder they didnt have history they sell groceries.

Ok… let’s say not Audi , but Who else puts their service online? And why would I need the logbook to access the service history? On my Google review your photos of the advert where you say… “ Fully documented service history” So please could you elaborate on what that means? Because the only service history I’ve got is two services in 2019 2020 and nothing for four years and 60,000 miles?…, So I would definitely say fully documented service history Is a false statement…. Again, you commented on another review saying that I come and see it three times phoned up loads of times… That’s not true.. Yes, I did phone up a few times, We came and drove it, away a week later we came and pick it up… So I make that two times I came to your place.., Whoever commented on that review …there advertising is almost as good as their counting … which is clearly not very good…
First time dealing with Canfield was about 5 years ago, I put down a deposit on a Megane RS and my understanding was this was refundable, unfortunately the loan I was going to use to purchase the car had expired and I had to pull out, Canfield refused to refund me my deposit of £500. Fast forward to present day and I thought perhaps I had been naïve in the past, put the past behind me as they had an X3 I was interested in so made the +1 hour drive to view the car after calling the day before saying I was interested and wanted to test drive the car. I arrived it was at the back of the warehouse with 5 cars in the way and the staff not willing to get it out for us to test drive, I was told "If you want to let us know in future we can get the car out for you to drive" couple that with the car now advertised £500 more than it was the day before... Too many bad experiences to recommend and will not be returning in future. Save your time and money. The attitude and lack of service really is frustrating from these guys, they simply do not care and the response to any criticism should be an indicator of what to expect.

Hi George Clearly, a number of customers will read this and they can make up there own mind on this situation. I will just present the facts as we clearly had two completely different experiences that day. You arrived to look at the car and you are absolutely correct, the car was at the back of the barn. You looked round the car and then came up to the office, you asked if the car had gone up in price and i replied 'yes it has, but as you enquired before this, i will honour the original price'.. So how is that a problem.. Secondly, you did not even ask to test drive the car, that is quite simply a lie. You actually said you had three more to look at so you would let me know if you are interested and to date, you never have. So actually, again, this is completely untrue! You may expect us as a garage to just bow down and apologise to you George and if we where in the wrong, which sometimes of course we are, i would happily do this, but i am afraid, i will only speak the truth, clearly unlike yourself.
Sold the car to me with front tiers bald and brake bands needing replacing even thoe the car went through there so called mot before I picked it up 11weeks down the line and left with major gearbox issues and when asking for help from the garage they basically said there was nothing they could do after paying £12000

This is my second car from Canfield in 3 years and have never had the slightest issue, This time they pointed out an issue with the car I had not identified and fixed it without me even having to ask . Very easy to deal with ,left alone to browse, no Pressure salesman looking over my shoulders , test drive to confirm all was ok with car . Absolutely delighted with the car and the service. If you are looking for a car give Canfield a visit.

Worst salesman I’ve ever met! Just plain rude! I rung in advance to check if two cars I was interested in where still available and he said yes so I said I would be there in half and hour and could I test drive them to which he said yes, I turned up looked round them both, smax and focus, both ford, both white, decided I really liked the focus and still liked the smax but had a few cosmetic issues, when I went in and asked to test drive the focus he basically asked if I intended to buy it and being rude because I had two different cars in mind, erm yes I am allowed to be undecided it’s the whole point in shopping/looking for a new car!! But he’s lost out because I was going to ask his best price on both! And I ended up walking away not buying any, his loss not mine!! AVOID CANFIELD GARAGE!

Hi Thank you for your review. You are absolutely correct, we did refuse you a test drive on the focus. You where looking at a 7 seater s max or a remapped, 3 door ford Focus. The fact they are the same manufacturer really makes no difference. We simply asked if you where intending to purchase a 3 door car or a 7 seater, of which you did not know. We are a business i'm afraid, not a test drive/ joy ride facility. We are more than happy for genuine customers to drive a car before purchase. What we are not happy to do is let people with nothing better to do drive 2 random cars with no intention of purchasing either! Bought a car from Canfield Garage, 9 years old and 100K on the clock which before you read their response to this stating these facts, is nothing in terms of todays engineering. I did not expect a show room condition car, just one that works. To cut a real long on going story short it threw up engine management lights in the first week of owning it, went back 4 separate times where they said they'd replaced this and that with no recipts to prove this. It had a BMW recal which they also done a VISUAL inspection and noted bald tyres and worn out break disks, this had just PASSED an MOT by Canfield Garage by the way! On the forth time of going back they sent it to and indipendant BMW specialist to have a diagnotic done to put my mind at rest there were no faults with it! What the failed to tell me is there were many faults and ALTERED the report then emailed it to me to make it look like there was nothing wrong with the car which in the 3/4 months of owning it has gone wrong on a weekly near on daily basis. This was all confirmed by the Indipendant company when i contacted them that canfield had ALTERED the report giving it a "clean bill of health" in their words. Currently going through solicititors. Do yourself a favour and dont get mugged off by this lot. Oh having read other negative reports on here which Canfield garage have duct out of by saying " i cant respond as there is no Name or Number plate" Dominic Basham HN58RYH. Dont be surprised to find some cocksure response to this. Good luck in court trying to explain how you altered another companies original documents to suit your lies. Shop elsewhere people.

Have to disagree 100 percent. Best used car experience I have had in 40 years of buying used cars. Now on my second car from them and they have have always treated me fairly and with respect. Reap what you sow springs to mind !
Cannot recommend Canfield Garage. Nightmare to deal with. Car broke down within 2 miles. They fixed within a week but did not replace a broken mirror indicator glass as promised. Then said it would be in the post, and forgot. After reminding several times they went as far as to claim they had now sent and had the receipt for postage in front of them. A few weeks later finally they posted... the wrong part! Have given up, not worth the hassle of speaking to them for 3 more months of reminders to sort it out. Buy a car from somewhere else, anywhere else!

couldn't agree more worst garage i have ever been too, across the drive from there barn thing is where they work on the cars i took one look i ran a mile!
I bought my C350 from Canfield garage at the beginning of February 2018. 4 months and 5k miles later I am still happy with the car and have not had a single issue with it. I cannot speak highly enough of the service I received and I will be checking their stock when we are due to change our cars.

Hi Andrew, just to clarify for our genuine customers. You live 400 miles from our dealership. Your car never once actually went wrong, you took a ten year old car to Volkswagen for an inspection and they ADVISED, on replacing the rear pads and discs and a shock absorber. Despite you having had the car nearly four months (out of warranty) and brakes not being covered under any warranty I still offered to send you all the parts free of charge to your door. But you refused this! When you state I have no idea of consumer rights, I think what you actually mean is I didn’t roll over and give you everything you wanted , bearing in mind you stayed to me you had lost your job and struggling financially, you wanted me to cover full maintenance costs for your car. I have run a car dealership selling 40+ cars per month for 6 years and pride myself on a friendly helpful family run business. Yes we make mistakes and unfortunately cars do go wrong, but without fail they are all fixed without question. I’m sorry you could not be more factual, reasonable and honest throughout the process Andrew. Dishonest reviews are unfair.
From buying the car to sorting out little niggles I cannot speak highly enough of these guys Straight forward no hassle easy to deal with Wish I had found them sooner
