This dealership sold me a car with some major problems with it. I took it back for them to fix and they gave me it back with problems that I’m risking 3 point on my license with. thought they were a good dealership until they speak to you the way they did and don’t even want to fix the car the sold you properly. Definitely wouldn’t advise buying a car from them but if so I would check absolutely everything.

Car purchased in November with clean mot . Something went bang last week rear sway bar on 4x4 . Turns out chassis is rotten and was advisory on previous 2 mot tests . I have photos available and car is now going to specialist for a report with having a young family money is important not to mention how severly corroded the underside of the car is I lost all control of the steering and after a brief inspection the other sway bar was found to be broken too .Am at a loss to where to go from here and been advised to have trading standards remove the car or hand over my independent report so now no car no money there's a proper truthful review

Andrew in response to sold me a Dangerous car avoid

Hi I was just reading your review about the car you got from Dunway cars. I bought a car from them last year and It was ridiculous the problems it had. I got trading standards involved, I contacted my local office and they had it resolved in a mater of days,,

I arranged an appointment to see a car and was running late. I had read a few reviews but didnt let them bother me until i got a voicemail and a rude email from Andy. Honestly people listen to the reviews i have dodged a bullet and glad i didnt buy from here as the customer service and attitude is rotten.

Recently bought a vw passat from this garage, not a bad car but on the way home the near side rear brake began to overheat. To cut a long story short, contacted Liam, explained that I’m an mot tester and that this car which had a brand new mot, should not have been issued with a new mot with two straight mot failures. 1. Parking brake fault + brake binding. 2. O/s/r shock absorber leaking oil badly. Liam agreed to my suggestion that due to the distance involved, and potential recovery costs that I would carry out the repairs and Dunway Motors would cover parts costs. Needless to say that once the work was done I was fobbed off by Liam, unfortunately my mother took seriously ill while this was kicking off, and only now have I had time to get back to this. I am checking out the MOT station that carried out the mot and will post here my findings, Liam said when this MOT station was mentioned that there’s no such thing as a free lunch, but I wonder. Feel free to contact me if you’ve had the same treatment and we can make sure no more dangerous cars are put on the road by this garage. Alex.

Ive used Dunway for years and always go there when im looking for a car never had any problems with any of my previous purchases Bought an outlander a few weeks ago from Andy and it developed a problem the car was fixed very quickly for me no disputes and he met all costs, Ive had experience of other garages who argue about repair costs not them. He saved my bacon yesterday, when like an idiot I put in the wrong fuel, he arranged his truck to uplift the jeep and take it to the garage drained and fixed on the same day no charge not many guys would go to that length to help out!!

Went here to look at 2 honda 4x4. Owner came out because i revved car up to 2k revs to check for noise at auxillary belt tensioner he then was extremely aggressive towards me saying that u dont need to rev car up to that. Then proceeded to lecture me about how he was a motor mechanic hahaha. Honestly the most aggressive cheeky salesman i have ever met. DONT GO HERE.

THE CUSTOMER REVD THE FIRST CAR EXCESSIVELY WE NEVER SAID ANYTHING.THEN PROCEEDED TO DO THE SAME TO THE SECOND BOTH FROM COLD.I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT IT WAS NOT GOOD TO REV CAR UP LIKE THAT WHEN IT IS COLD. HE THEN BECAME SARCASTIC ASKING IF WE WANTED TO SELL CAR OR NOT.I EXPLAINED TO HIM THE REASON I ASKED HIM NOT TO REV CAR LIKE THAT WAS THE CAR WAS CHAIN DRIVEN AND REVING FROM COLD COULD RESULT IN DAMAGING THE CHAIN.WE WERE NEVER ANGRY AND THE CUSTOMER DID NOT TAKE KINDLY TO THE ADVICE WALKING AWAY.WE SOLD THE CAR 10 MINS LATER TO ALOVELY COUPLE WHO WERE ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED WITH CAR

Purchased a car 6 weeks ago from Dunway Cars and the car needed work, got told to bring it back for repair but was too busy for the next week or two, two weeks later i got the car in and got told it needed something in the engine and to run it for a few weeks (knowing you only get 30 day warranty) after the time they said was up i called back (five weeks later) to be told its out of warranty and nothing will be done! The engine management light is on and ive already had to spend 300 on repairs (assuming they just plug the diagnostics in and cancel faults) Somehow it was purchased with a fresh mot so how can i have 3 bulbs out and needed to get wipers (which failed the first before passed) Like another reviewer states all service stamps are by Arnold Clark (bit fishy there)

Got a car two months ago from Dunway Cars and all felt fine on the test drive, driving home had a few lights come up so took it back, got told it was fixed but a week later same problem (obviously just turned off the lights with diagnostic kit) refused to help at all and now have a few problems with the car and am debating taking a HUGE loss on the car and getting a different one ALREADY!!! No interest to help you and the aftercare is pants! all they want is your money and the 30 day warranty they offer is pretty much sold as seen! Worst dealer ive used and now have a hefty bill or a new car on top of a 3k car that has problems!
