I bought a car from here a couple months ago after seeing it advertised online. Car was clean inside and not too bad outside although it did have a fair amount of stone chips and horrendous "touch up" areas which I wish I had inspected clearer before purchasing. Had Liam deal with everything, who at first seemed really nice and helpful but soon after I felt a bit pushed into placing a deposit after having a test drive. I came back a few days later to pick it up, and my mum came along and was browsing the cars and asking Liam about them, but all he seemed to car about was getting the payment for my car. Almost stopping my mum in mid sentence to get paid. Anyway, took car home and less than 2 weeks later the clutch slipped, luckily under warranty! So I took it back (broke down on motorway and had to get it towed there) and it got fixed and ready to collect next day. Which I was more than happy with as it could have been longer, although the courtesy car he gave me in the mean time genuinely seemed like his personal car. It was rank inside, had rubbish everywhere, the tracking was off and I even found a mouldy toothbrush in the boot after driving it home! The fuel gauge was knackered as it was half full, then it was almost empty, and on my way to fill up it went back up to half full. So I had to put in a fair amount of diesal to make sure I didn't get stranded. The only reason I took the car was because i live 60 miles from the dealership and didn't have any other choice as 'this was the only one' and he also wouldn't show me that this courtesy car was covered by their insurance, so for all I know I could have been driving it illegally! Complained to him about it when I went to pick my car up and he claimed there was nothing wrong with the car, the fuel gauge was fine and that it is never off the road hence the dirty state. Was genuinely horrified at his cheek to basically call me a liar. I then took my car and went away, only to find out that my radio had been locked in safe mode (by the mechanic I'm assuming) and they didn't even have the balls to say anything about it. I had to spend 25 quid at Ford to get it out of safe mode. 2 months on and I have had to get 2 wheel bearings done at over 200 quid, and now my brakes need looked at due to a horrendous clunking noise that has happened once or twice when applying the brakes, causing them to be extremely less effective than they should be and steering wheel or rack needs checking as well due to vibrating vigorously when braking hard. I will never look at another ad with the words Dunway Cars again let alone buy again or recommend to anyone. I would say iv had a better experience than others but who's to say the car won't die on me soon. I wish I had found this site before buying! Honestly don't even give them the benefit of the doubt. Don't think 'oh that won't happen to me'. Just don't! Even if they do have a few cars that are spot on and great, these idiots don't deserve your money. There ads might seem interesting and look good but do yourself a favour and look somewhere else. Or it may come at a price.
I wish I had found this site before i bought my car from dunway cars. came up to view it, was described as perfect etc. got there and was told somone cleaning the car had damaged the LCD screen, but they could get that fixed easy as they had contacts etc. said it would take 2 - 3 days, one day for fitting and a day each for delivery. fast forward 2 weeks and about a dozen phone calls to andy (all of them were always "ill phone you back at 2 oclock today - never did, not once did he return a call) and still no car. eventually he told me he couldnt get it done, but agreed to knock some money off before the purchase. in the time it took for him to not sort the lcd screen he left it parked on a country road outside the garage where the windscreen got cracked. nice. that got sorted - more waiting. finally got the car. it lasted 5 days before it wouldnt start. contacted andy - More "yeah ill phone you back later" i didnt bother again, was too tired and frustrated with false promises. I had to buy a new battery myself. decided then it was a waste of time talking to dunway as they werent interested in helping. then had more issues with it 2 weeks later - there was all sorts of garbage in the fuel filter cylinder starving the engine of fuel. had to get that sorted. then 2 months later the oil pump blew, destroyed the turbo and ruined the entire engine. all in all - 3 months from buying the car it was written off. about 4 and a half grand (including money i threw at it) down the drain. so yeah. maybe im a mug for going though with the purchase when all the warning signs were there. I really wish i saw this website prior to purchase, and i could have avoided so much hassle and saved myself a lot of money. if you do decide to look at a car from this garage be VERY critical of any issues, and dont take any nonsense. Any signs of shady issues - just back off!! Reading these reviews - there seems to be a lot of similar stories. Just be careful!
Absolutely shocking. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY. Sold me a car in a dangerous condition, refused to give a refund, using abusive and aggressive language. Refused to speak to trading standards. Refused to acknowledge a court order to pay up. Refusing to comply to Sheriff Officers order. Look at all the other reviews on this site (apart from those written by the garage themselves). I repeat - DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY
I bought a Vaxhall insignia from Dunway Cars Back in April and I thought the service was really good. The car was very clean and in great condition. There was a small fault with the car but nothing major and will be repaired under the warranty. I Would recommend this dealership.

Bought a stunning wee car from the guys at dunway. Both Andy and Liam were extremely helpful in ensuring I made a good decision with my purchase. The car I came to see lived up to expectations and matched up with the advert perfectly. I have been running the car for well over a month now and its been faultless. Thanks guys
DO NOT BUY ANY CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE!! I had the worst experience. Traded car in and bought car from them. Car had many problems and had to be put into garage 2 days after purchase. Had car report done by MOT inspector and was basically a border line MOT pass. Asked for car back and money back. The owner is a very unpleasant character. He will swear, shout and abuse you regardless. After few weeks he agreed to money and car back. My previous car was delivered back to me on back of truck with fluid running out of engine and gear box knackered!! I'll allow you all to come to your own conclusions!! Final result was I was left with car that needed work and money spent on it and out of pocket. Horrible experience.

Never buy or even put deposit for any car to DUNWAY CARS. Before he will be nice but once you give him money he wil be changed. If you found any fault in car and tell him about the fault and ask your money or even deposit back he will be very rude with you and even he will start swearing you. I dont know how he is still running that business. He is not scared from any law and he does not follow any law if my experience with him is anything to go by. My advice is to never ever buy any car from here. Maybe you will find that his price bit low then other cars but to save small amount of money do not waste your whole money for the car.
Bought a high spec car from Liam and Andyat Dunway Cars. It was a great car and the customer service was second to none. They could not do enough for me, many thanks lads. l will be back, cheers guys.

Rang Andy at Dunway Cars on Saturday to explain I would be driving up from Manchester on the Sunday to buy a car and leave mine with him "yeah no problems" he said, "you'll not find a mark on it, we have professional dent fixers and we don't sell rubbish". Off to a good start. 235 miles later I arrived at the garage to be met with a stunning BMW, only to be told that the car has no MOT and he will put an MOT on it next week. Never thought to explain this to me the previous evening before I drove up to buy the car, which I explained on the phone was my intention do this. No one turns up to buy a car and drive it away these days apparently, WELL I DID! (Once again re-iterating that I explained on Sat evening that I am driving up from Manchester and it was my intention to buy it and drive away). Complete waste of my time and fuel. He offered to "knock a couple of hundred off the car if I take it with no MOT" and also offered to meet me in Carlisle (120 miles from my house) next week sometime. In the end I walked away, because he totally wasted my time and money. In fairness the car looked mint but once the trust is gone, the deal is screwed. Plus I was rather angry, so if in doubt do nowt. All in all a very unpleasant day, lovely car but a total waste of time which could have been avoided with a little truth (he didn't lie to me, he just didn't give me all the information i needed at the time). My opinion, go somewhere else.

This was a total oversight as we got enquiry on the previous evening which was Friday and to be fair to the customer he did travel the following day from manchester to view the vehicle,on arrival we at this stage realised we had to MOT the vehicle and as a consequence we did not have MOT facilities on a Saturday to MOT the vehicle ,which was disconcerting to the customer as he wanted to drive the vehicle away on that day,as a gesture of goodwill we offered the customer travelling expenses and we were prepared to deliver the vehicle to a suitable destination once we had carried out the appropriate checks
Dunway Cars were very reasonable, had a bit of an issue at first, engine management light was flashing so I took it back into them, they seemed to know the issue as it was apparently quite common and they got it fixed up. When the car was handed over it was spotless, overall very happy.
