"purchase of Vauxhall Astra SH12 LCP "

purchased a 2012 vauxhall astra from Riverview Cars on 12/1/23 reg SH12 LCP. It was delivered to me on a transporter by a third party arranged by Riverview Cars. the vehicle arrived with numerous issues : heavy scratches (advised there were none - i have written and video evidence of this) , squeaky clutch - again video evidence. heavy rust / corrosion on the underside of the car - again i specifically asked if there was any rust / corrosion and i was told nothing. Most distressing of all is that the vehicle apparently passed an mot and had a service within the last two months but the rear near side brake pad has been found to be disintegrated when i had to take the car to a local garage to investigate a rubbing noise under breaking. Riverview cars informed me that prior to delivery the vehicle underwent a 30 mile road test - and no issues were reported. the only explanation they had to this was that the brake pad must of disintegrated between collection and delivery to myself .. utter nonsense. supposedly serviced but only 81% oil life remaining after circa 50 miles from the service. i have had numerous emails / texts relating to this issue and all the garage have offered is £100 for my trouble. the car is not safe to drive and i have a detailed report from my local garage which highlights all of the issues. Riverview cars did offer to take the car back for a refund but i was told i would have to cover both the original cost for delivery £300 and be responsible for the return of the car. its completely unacceptable and not as described. as of today (20/01/23) i was asked by Riverview Cars for the local garage (Hingley Autos) to send them a report as they told me the £135 + VAT quoted for the replacement of brake pads was excessive. Erik said that brake pads are £8 and with fitting would be £65 from them. needless to say this has been a horrible experience and i would happily share my experience with any interested parties. my email is richj6362 @ gmail.com. i can provide details of my experience with River View Cars. i have now commenced legal proceedings with this matter.

Having owned my car for 8 months I noticed I had a water leak, called River view who got me booked in fast and sorted the problem free of charge, they even washed it for me, happy customer, thank you.

AVOID! Noticed a chip in the window screen on day of collection, which took them over a week to arrange a repair. The repair man they use (Glazetech), was sent to my home address, which was the only positive feedback I can give to them. No less than a week later I had gone over a pothole and this "repaired chip" had cracked (I had this car no more than 2 weeks) Upon calling them to arrange a replacement, they would not take any responsibility and blamed me for going over a pothole and said I would be liable for the damage. I admitted that had the crack appeared in different location on the window screen I would have taken responsibility and replaced it myself. I also explained that this damage had been caused because of a minor fault (chip) to begin with and the repair provided was defective and had clearly not been done correctly. I also asked if the repair man provided (Glazetech), garunteed his work like autoglass, they completely ignored this question and Continued to blame me for the damage. After numerous phone calls chasing them for a replacement they continuously gave me excuses and eventually blocked my number refusing to deal with the matter. This is the most shocking customer service I have ever received and do not advise buying from them as if you do have a fault with your vehicle, I assure you they will give you the same runaround. AVOID! After reading other reviews, it's also this kirsty that I delt with over the phone, and I'm sure the last call before I got my number blocked I was told there is no Kirsty that worked there 🤣 joke of a dealership. Also i was polite and patient on the phone, no abuse, no raising my voice, I see this in replies to thier negative feedback as to why they acted the way they did. I see every positive review they have is from people that have had no issues with cars, (assume Riverview had bought/PX them with 0 faults). I cannot see 1 positive review where someone has had an issue that has been resolved without major negligence. Also over a month since I purchased and picked up the car and still have not received a V5C and the window screen is still cracked making the car undriveable, I picked the vehicle up on the 10/6/22 and has been undriveable since 21/6/22.

This review is unbelievable! You did indeed buy a 2010 car from us for £3499, it did indeed have small chip in the screen, having just passed the MOT without an advisory we overlooked this. We sent a professional company out to repair this for you, a few weeks later you called to say your screen had cracked. Once agin we sent the company out who confirmed it was fresh damage. We do not and have never blocked a customer and would suggest you have called another business, our number is 01914999687 and can also be found on google. We are confident customers reading our reviews will form the correct view of our business, Regards

Bought a Ford Focus eco bost from them great service and was very helpful full 12 months mot on collecting the car the key was playing up got this sorted for me a few days later would highly recommend and was highly recommended to my self no issues they even ordered me a new screen wash cap as it was missing thanks for your help glenn

Do not buy from this company!!! Had to get a refund on a car after owning it for 5 weeks. In the 5 weeks we had the car it broke down three times. The attitude of the owner was disgusting advising he’d just left a few wires loose after the third time they had it back for repair what’s the big deal. The big deal is you returned a car from its third repair unroad worthy. To add insult to injury we had filled the tank with £50 worth of diesel just before the third breakdown and paid £150 on parts out of our own pocket and we’re told we wouldn’t get any of this back. The lady was lovely who sold us the car but as soon as there was problems we were promised call backs which never happened, texts were ignored and we had to keep chasing. Please everyone avoid this garage if you want to save yourself money and hassle!! Had to give one star to leave a review but if I could give zero I would.

Partner purchased a car from here in Aug 2020,needed to make a warranty chain but warrant company could not be contacted...I spoke to Riverview and within a couple of hours they had sorted the problem and made sure we were reimbursed...EXCELLENT SERVICE...Thank You
